Okay, so I built this list using only models that I have and I tried to make it as balanced as I could. I know I'm low on scoring and will get outshot by a stiff breeze, but hey, when everything in our codex is this expensive, it's hard to put in enough units to get the job done.
HQ:
Reclusiarch w/ JP and Meltabombs
Honor Guard w/ 3x plasma, Rhino
Troops:
10x Assault Marines, 2 flamers, Hand flamer on Sarge, drop pod
10x Tactical Marines, Flamer/Missile Launcher, Rhino
Fast Attack:
Baal Predator, TLAC, Heavy Bolters
Baal Predator, Flamestorm Cannon
Heavy Support
10x Devestators, 4 missile launchers
Storm Raven, TLMM, TLAC, Hurricane Bolters
1500 pts even. You can also drop the Raven, two Baals and the Hand flamer to make this a 1000 pt list but that doesn't leave a whole lot to work with.
Strategy: combat squad the tacticals and the devestators, leaving 2-2-1 split firing missile launchers at home with lots of bullet catchers between them. Flamer tactical squad stays in the rhino. Assault Marines drop pod in close and flamer whatever is open, forcing my opponent to either charge into a wall of death or get Flamered again and charged by assault marines the next turn. Also, DISTRACTION CARNIFEX for my vehicle spearhead.
Unless the opponent is silly space marine biker orbital bombardments, try to get first turn, phalanx up the vehicles with the two AV13 protecting the weaker AV11 rhinos, scout the Baals 12" forward, move them 12" and shoot whatever I can, then flat out the Rhinos 24" to hide behind the Baals again. Formation splits on turn two. Flamer Baal and Flamer rhino charge up as close as possible to roast infantry. Honor guard Rhino moves 6" and disembarks 6" to rapid fire plasma into something, TLAC Baal tries to shield as best as possible while still allowing for maximum fire power. Turn three, Reclusiarch splits from his Honor guard, using jump pack to get into charge range of something, honor guard follows as best as possible, softening his target with plasma and providing furious charge+fnp if possible. Reclusiarch gets in there and beats face on a monstrous creature, vehicle or anything with less than a Firewarrior's armor save.
Missile Launchers and Storm Raven do their thing. Hunt tanks and hordes. Kind of self explanatory.
With this army, I would want to put one objective in my DZ for my tactical ML to claim and the rest in my opponents so I can claim or contest all of his objectives at the same time. Unless the game mode is big guns. Then my two devestator combat squads can each claim a backfield objective as well.
My concern obviously is if my SR and MLs will be enough to handle the usual number of flyers *cough* heldrake *cough* and if my four vehicle fast phalanx/spearhead idea is at all viable. Thoughts?

I think this list is one of the better lists I've seen, we BA players struggle to be competitive now but this list covers pretty much all bases, anti-infantry, anti-tank, anti-flyer, objective holding........and it makes use of "what used to be" BA forte - fast moving, baal preds and Stormravens - These were the reasons I started BA!
I think you're right about other flyers, if yours doesn't come on first, or at least, the same thurn, you could be screwed.
I would suggest trying to squeeze in a Defence line with Comms relay to improve the reserve roll - drop some of the marines in the devastator squad to pay for it - it's the only improvement I'd try make. I think you might struggle to protect the Rhino's with the Preds better front armour. Given how fast they're moving the Flamer Pred could be on the edge of your opponent's deployment zone first turn, leaving it wide open to side-shots (although if your opponent has deployed right on his line, he'll get flamed first!).
Given how much BA Rhinos are, and that you've only got minimum squads in each I'd suggest Razorbacks for a smidge more oomph, though that would mean dropping the JP from the Reclusi (since Bulky).
Also worried about how it would deal with AV14, but as you say, BA doesn't get much wiggle room due to costs.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind upgrading my two Rhinos to Razors and using a Librarian instead of a Reclusiarch (60 pts right there) but I just don't have the models. Like I said, I constructed this only from models I had and I liked the way it turned out. I'd give my 10 drop pod ASM Meltas instead of flamers to deal with AV14 if I had the models, but then there's no question about just charging in with whatever my opponent has laying around. The wall of death afforded by two flamers and a hand flamer would give anyone pause.
Yeah, side shots are a concern, but I'm hoping by rolling up right down their throat, where all their firepower is concentrated, they'll have to try and shoot at AV13 only. I wish that Preds at least had side armor 12. 11 is just way too easy to pen. You can lose a rhino to Plasma, easily, for the Emperor's Sake. But we can't have everything and at least our vehicles are fast enough to get shot less and do their job more. Since I'll be in my opponent's DZ turn 1, after formation breaks and my important units get deployed where they need to be, I don't really care what happens to my rhinos. I'd like to keep the Baals alive, so I'll be buffering their position plenty to try and face the front towards my enemies guns, but whatever happens, happens.
I really appreciate all the feedback and ideas  I think if I find the money to buy some Razorbacks/turrets for my rhinos and an ADL, those will be the first upgrades to take this list to 1850. Then maybe another scoring unit of somekind because I really don't feel like I have enough. Not to sound like a broken record but we just can't fit in everything we want for the points. I like having a full devestators squad so I can split my fire (and I only have one signum-sergeant :p) so I'm probably not going to drop the numbers on that squad. If I had the option of just taking a five man tactical with a special or heavy, I'd probably cut down my tactical numbers, but for some silly reason we can't have either till we take the full ten models :/
Oh, and thanks for the better list comment  I've had to hammer out ideas for a while and have had many bad list ideas and bad games before I thought to try something like this.

I usually play BA but my games are usually 5K plus!
We're not that effective at the high a points cost, it really shows the difference in point costs at such a high level.
Unfortunately we have units that are over costed and as a result....are pure garbage! *looking at you sanguinary guard*

I always thought Sang Guard were a cool idea. I mean... FLYING TERMINATORS. But the lack of TH/SS combo makes them not as cool as they sound...
