This is my first stab at a 1,500pt Space Marine army. I only play with my brother and a few other friends, and none of us have any flyers, so that’s why you don’t see any in my list. Trying to keep it even. heh

I would appreciate any help you could give me in terms of the overall structure and also recommended weapons. Thanks guys.

HQ:
Space Marine Captain (I’m open to changing this, but wasn’t sure if the points would be wasted)

Elites:
Venerable Dreadnought with a drop pod

Troops:
10 Tactical Marines (have no idea of weapons i need) w/Rhino
10 Tactical Marines (same as above) w/Rhino

Fast Attack
3 Scout Bikers
3 Scout Bikers

Heavy Support
1 Predator with twin-linked lascannon
1 Predator with twin-linked lascannon

Maybe this list is just way off in terms of anything that even remotely makes sense. If that’s the case please let me know also. I pretty much have a clean slate here to build.

Captains are good, but I'd at least put a command squad with them. Otherwise, if its just a throw-a-way choice, just take a Librarian for your HQ (its cheaper and can be more useful). I find that most of my marine armies are built around the troops, elites, and heavy support and I don't spend alot of points on the HQ.

Scout bikers are not really that great. But if you wanted bikers you could put your captain on a bike to make any bike squads troops.
