A Chaos Space Marine Drop Pod. Flies around for a bit before landing where you want it to if I remember right. Might can land and take off again, but it's been so long since I last looked at it. It's a 40k Approved Forgeworld unit.

40k- The Kumunga Swarm (more)
Count Mortimer’s Private Security Force/Excavation Team (building)
Kabal of the Grieving Widow (less)

Yes, as it's a flyer, it works quite well. However, not every gaming circle plays with Forge World units/rules. I'd let you use it and borrow the book to see what it does, though.

If i'm not mistaken, and I might be. lol The Dreadclaw lets you assault out of the pod when it lands. nice. Would work great for a squad of berzerkers.......

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.

Not the round it comes out of reserves, no. Very few units have rules to get around that restriction.

However, as it's an assault vehicle and a flier, on subsequent rounds you could move up to a unit (in hover mode? Drawing a blank), hop out, then assault. Very useful and powerful unit. It will attract some shots!

I could use it to redeploy a lascannoning/missle launching helbrute so it doesn't die so much!

I haven't read the rules on it in forever, but I'm not sure if it can take one. It may only take infantry. Not sure. I don't own one.

At any rate, here's what each look like, before you go down that route. You may be able to find a tutorial on converting the drop pod into a dread claw.

Huh, that seems mildly problematic... I am terrible at green stuff and don't know were to get those spike things...

As a Chaos Player, if you've ever bought a Chaos Vehicle, you should have PLENTY of spikes left over... It's their favorite accessory.

Looks like you might be able to just flip those "wings" upside down and call it "close enough".

I could do that, and just put some spikes on the bottom, I found some rules but no point cost, anyone got something?

Solder holes in it, and make LoS-blocking terrain. It was a deep-strike mishap.

Paint it in the colours of your favourite C:SM opponent, for a giggle.

If concerned, most FLGS will let you exchange things if it's still in its original wrapping.

"For eleven hundred years, I have fought and I have seen the darkness in our galaxy. I have seen the vileness of the alien and the heresy of the mutant. I have witnessed the sin of possession. I have seen all the evil that the galaxy harbours, and I have slain all whose presence defiles the Emperor. I have seen what you will see. I have fought what you must fight, and I have slain what you must slay... so fear not and be proud, for we are the sons of Sanguinius, the protectors of Mankind. Aye, we are indeed the Angels of Death."

I'd turn it into a Dreadclaw then stick some spikes or what have you on it (depending on your chosen god)

Following that they come out a little wider than the old FW version, but its not a big deal really.
