I recently saw a very interesting scenario for "Infinity" that came out on Halloween. Infinity, it should be noted, is much smaller in scale; you're using maybe 10-15 models; it plays differently, as you might expect.

That said, it had some cool ideas. The scenario basically involved three 'spawn points' for techno-zombies. There was a crap-ton of terrain and a big table, and the players had to find 2 items and leave (or something like it). Every turn, the tech-zombies would essentially use the Frenzy rules.

The idea of a cooperative scenario that still relies on wargame construction is an interesting one, and I'd like to see the idea tossed around. Kreoss and Caine on a stealth mission to take out some Cryxians? Nemo and Lucant working together to defend their mages against some Retribution partisans? I think it has some merits.

I thought that there must be SOME interesting way of translating this unique cooperative scenario to Warmachine. I just don't know how. Got any ideas?

Alternatively if you've just heard some cool ways to handle odd player numbers (3, 5, etc. )that'd be neat. ;P

The easiest way to play a 3 player game is to have one player use two armies and the other 2 to play one army each.

One interesting multiplayer scenario was in a NQ. I think it had menoth, cryx cygnar and maybe khador. Each faction had different objectives to win.

One fun thing we did with Mordheim is hidden agendas. Each warband drew one face down card and that was their objective. That makes it more than just killing each other or people teaming up constantly.

I haven't played with it yet, but Malifaux has a solo scenario kit they started selling at GenCon. In addition, the 6th Edition 40k box set Dark Vengeance has a couple of solo scenarios.

Similar notions.

where the wind comes sweeping down the plains

We used to play a Heroclix coop scenario called "cop killers" where we placed 36 police heroclix figures in the center of the board...
The 3-6 players would build teams of bad guys and attempt to KO (kill) the most cops...
You could only passively stop your pals from scoring by building barriers, etc...but no power or attack could target another player...it was a blast.

I have enough blighted ogrun warspears to run a similar scenario...

4 players...cannot target other player's figures with spells or attacks (scattered attacks would still affect them as will any affect that does not target opponent figures...mass effects still apply)

Draw a diagonal on the map
1 blob of 15 war spears (centered)
1 flag (18 inches along the diagonal from the center)
1 objective (opposite) ARM 18, 15 boxes

Closest to the flag scores 1 point after every round.
Closest to objective scores 2 points after every round. 2 points if it is destroyed.
Each Ogrun boxed scores 1 point.

First player to 10 points wins. Objective and flag are only contested if both models touch its base.

The Ogrun: If an ogrun is attacked all warspears within range and line of sight throw a spear at the attacking model immediately following each attack/damage roll.
