Well, escalation is here and my gaming circle is certainly preparing for battle. My regular opponent just got himself a Baneblade, which is fine by me because I love to crunch IG. I have enough Orks to handle anything looking like a super-heavy that goes on the board but then again, why should they have all the fun? Luckily if there's one thing us Orks have it's " plenty uv opshuns." With the release of FW's LOW update, there are so many things to take. I, for one , love the Stompas, always have. I even like all the loadouts, my favorite being the "Evil Eye in Da Sky." I will build 3 others, over time, including the kustom , the Big Mek, and of course, the "Rok'n'Rolla." Before I bring these out I am definitely getting a Kill Bursta, which has the only ranged D weapon that I've seen for our army. And surprisingly "cheap" (used loosely) for FW. All these will come eventually but until then the Orks will do what they always have done best, destroy stuff. So I say bring the super-heavies, all of them. Waaagggh!!!

I still wait for a system that allows players to kitbash everything they want as orks. That is a cost-table for certain "base" statlines (walker, super-heavy walker, tank, ...), weapons and upgrades (Armor, WS, special options...). Would make wazzoo's creations completely playable which is a reason to rewrite the codex in and on itself.

Then the Kustom Battlefortress from IA:2 is for you.
That thing can be built to every role, from long range artillery platform (with no less than three supa-kannons or lobbas) to superheavy battle tank to assault vehicle, and all at a reasonable price. It doesn't have an official model anymore (at least for the time being) so modellers have free rein to scratchbuild their own.
And, truth be told, there are some really inspiring designs out there.

Oh wow.
I think I just giggled in glee at looking at that design...

Looks awesome, but if its not packing a D weapon its a waste of time.
Unless of course, your group homerules D weapons so they aren't infinitely better than every other gun out there. Then you can go nuts with the various options

Wondering Why the Emperor Left
|
It looks like a Baneblade cannon to me. You could also use the FW Supa Kannon if you don't have one handy, although the Basilisk seems like a good option also because it gves you a chassis to use as well as a gun to use.
I agree the Kustom Battle Fortress is really awesome because of its scratchbuild-friendliness, especially now the Kustom Stompa is no longer legal. The customisability makes it really neat rules-wise as well, you can take 3 Flakk Gunz or 2 Flakk Gunz and a Supa Kannon or Supa Lobba and have a strong, durable anti-flier platform that doesn't rely on reserve rolls or take up useful Fast Attack slots.

At first glance it looks they made it by bashing together a Stompa, a Trukk and at least two Battlewagons. Two words: Prohibitively expensive
@thisisnotaseriousaccount And if you keep it open-topped you can castle in some lootas with meks to fix it from the insides. And a KFF big mek makes even more sense given that its most dangerous weapon is not a CCW like the Stompa's.
Also, loading it with Burnas and thrusting towards the enemy lines may be interesting. It'll certainly last longer than a battlewagon, and if it dies it still has a strong chance of taking half your opponent's army with it.
