Dear Dakka,

Today I have a bit of an odd question(s) for those of you who play fantasy. Can anyone tell me the size (heightXlength) of these 2 bits from the fantasy range:

The smoke contrail from the skaven plague furnace censer ball:


and the dimensions for the stovepipe topper on the empire steam tank:


I've had a crazy idea to add the smoke from the plague furnace to a chaplain dreadnought backpack with steam tank toppers on it, but want to make sure the scale is feasible before I track the bits down for purchase.

I figure there's no sense in a venerable relic of the chapter looking dull and drab, am I right?

The skaven plague furnace part measures about 97mm from one side of the ball tot he end of the smoke,
And about 95mm from the top of the hook to the boittom of the ball.
Ball is 27mm diameter.

No problem, Just happened to have that part sitting in the bits box as I made mine into a Screaming Bell... Later deciding that I shoudlve made the Plague Furnace for the size of my army... theres always next time hehe lucky I dont really play the game all that much eh

Was only measured with a tape measure... so please dont shoot me for being a bit out either way.

I'm pretty certain the stack bit is around 1/2 inch around - call it 12-13mm. Unfortunately I don't have one right at hand to measure...

Thanks vulcan, I'll give that a measure compared to the backpack I have available for the dreadnought. Sorry for the delay in posting, was having a movie day with in laws.

Just an afterthought, but if the smoke is the wrong size for the job, you could pressmold the texture and reshape it to a size/shape more suitable for your need. That is if sculpting it is beyond your ability. (its beyond mine )

Yeah I had a similar idea during the evening hairy, I'm not confident in my sculpting abilities at all yet- its something I'm planning to work on in the new year.

That's usually how it works. The best laid plans often come to grief once you have the bits in hand and you realize they don't quite match up the way you thought they did...
