I recently saw a list that was posted and was called perfectly legal.

It was eldar allied with dark eldar but also included inquisitors and a tau fire support cadre.

My question is what allows the person to take the tau fire support cadre? I just looked at the data sheet and it just says it can be included in any tau detachment but not that it can be taken on its own with any other army outside of detachments. What am I missing? Under the same logic would I be allowed to take a storm wing formation with my space wolves?

Read the rules for "allied formations" in the date slate

Thanks, I somehow missed that.
