Looks awesome, although if you are looking for some C&C...

I'd look into microsol and microset for your transfers. They work wonders on getting smoother edges, especially when you go:

- Glosscoat of varnish
- Microset to on the surface.
- Apply transfer with water.
- Cover transfer in microset.
- Cover in microsol.
- Cover in another glosscoat.
- Matt or satin finish in the end.

it seriously is a great combo for transfer.

Fantastic job on the headlights and source lighting. At first glance I thought you had a real bulb in there

Fantastic paint job. I will 2nd what Elmir said about the transfers. And don't be afraid to scuff up and weather them too!

Very nice and super clean. Love how it's on the realistic scale than the GW Studio "harsh outlines" palette. Excellent job!

Thanks for the comments!

Elmir, funny enough I did use Microset/sol and pretty much that exact process. If you look at the Blood Angels symbol on the nose, the two yellow ones on the spoiler and the blood drop on the marine's shoulder you'll see they're seamless. It's only those two BA symbols on the back that didn't work so well. Not sure why as I used the same process for all. Will keep a closer eye on them next time!

ah yes...

Yeah, the 2 wonky ones sadly caught my eyes first... weird if you did the exact same thing indeed :(

Are all the transfers from the same sheet? I've seen quite a bit of variance between transfers of different ages. Either that or there was something in the surface that caused the difference.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Agamemnon, I guess it could have been either of those. More likely the transfers themselves as they were all applied over sprayed on gloss varnish so should have been a consistent surface texture.

Great work Luther! Your BA army must be coming along nicely. You should really do up a P&M Blog so you can have it all in the same place. I'd really like to see you army shot at the moment.

One thing you might want to try aside from fixing the decals is to shade your metallics a bit more. The rear exhausts and front bumper would look better with some darker shades of brown/black. The green gems and front headlights look killer though! Keep up the great work!

Luther, I love it! Transfers can be a hassle but really you did a fine job!

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.

Thanks Kelly & Eggroll!

@ Eggroll I do plan to do a P&M blog, but I actually want to rephotograph everything as it's quite inconsistent at the moment. Maybe I'll get a chance to do that over the holidays.

Thanks for the tip on the metallics, I'll give that a try. I did a land speeder storm a while ago and from memory I did spray brown ink on the exhausts which gave quite a realistic 'burned' effect. Same on my drop pod.

Excellent work, I like the red you used, not the usual circus or fire engine red. Another tip for transfers: I cut right up to the out line and don't leave any clear material. This helps make it look more seamless, and also helps when applying to curved surfaces, like the Ultra's symbol on shoulder pads.

Thanks for the comments!

I noticed something today as I had the model out – the 'halo' around the transfer doesn't show up at all under normal light. Must be exaggerated by the light tent... might take some more pics when I've figured out the lighting.
