Ok I'm thinking about fluff for my eldar. I want to run alot of wraith so lyanden came to mind. But I don't like yellow. i HATE it. I also hate prince yriel. So I've made up my own craftworld. Im painting them black and green to contrast with my hive fleet kraken nids. I'l be allying alot with my space marines. So, I was thinking the reason for all the wraith is because tyranids attacked the planet, and my space marines, being "friendly", stood in to help. The eldar autarch of the craftworld was a smart person, and unlike most other eldar, was more than willing for the assistance. After the battle, the forsaken knights (my space marines) and the autarch came to an unspoken allegiance. So pretty much my eldar and space marines are friends. Now I'm not worried about that fact, more how can I explain the autarch accepting continuos friendship with the marines.

The fun thing about Eldar is that they can easily justify anything with two simple answers.

1) The Eldar are subtly manipulating the Marines because elder numbers are low.

2) An Eldar Farseer saw a future where the Marines are important to the future.

You really don't need anything other then that.

Option 2 please. Thanks! Lol.

If you ever have imperial opponents you can play that away by saying the ordo xenos are p*ssed at your chapter.

You can pretty much justify any eldar alliance by invoking 'threads of fate'.

I've had grey knights come after them, but the ordo Thingy thing ended up getting... Mislead by a friendly neighbour hood ALPHA LEGION.

I think you'll have to work harder to make this alliance more believable. A space marine chapter is not likely to help save an Eldar craftworld out of 'friendliness' alone.

I would suggest the following tweaks:
- The craftworld was ravaged by Tyranids some time in past and this enemy was driven back at great cost, hence the number of wraith units
- These Eldar, after carefully analyzing the strands of fate, decide to intervene and lend their full aid in defending the Forsaken Knights homeworld from a splinter fleet attack
- The Forsaken knights, out of strong sense of traditional honor, vow to aid the craftworld in its times of dire need, that this debt may be repaid

This is in keeping with the general themes established in the OP, with the essential difference that the alliance is based on a critical honor-debt being repaid as opposed to 'friendliness' and is supported by two factions' ally status of 'allies of convenience'.
