Well, Ive been slowly over the years, getting tired of Games Workshop and their insane marketing tactics. Because of this I seem to move farther and farther away from them as time goes on, and as such, Ive been scouring the internet for substitutes for my mini addiction. Ive tried several different games, and bought and painted different minis and usually that was about as far as it ever went. Ive Known about On the Lamb Games for a few years now and also said "They have some really cool ideas but they just arnt completely my cup of tea" And its been true, their games design has always made me think "hmm I like that" but they havnt ever really hooked me, until I read about Endless Fantasy Tactics. Heres a Youtube vid of the basics of the game.

Now this game really caught my attention, because Ive wasted far to many hours of my life playing tactics games on SNES and Genesis and so on. So once they got my attention, I read everything I could get my hands on just to see whats the deal here. I quickly fell in love. The rules as Ive understood them so far are pretty strait forward the game design is different and I mean that in a good way, and best of all the minis range from incredibly charming all the way to down right evil. They are a 40mm scale mini, which I think is a great scale for minis, because the mini is large enough to be forgiving on paint skills, character doesnt get lost in the size as well as a feeling of "just right"

Now Ive bought a few minis myself just to check them out in person, because Im one of those people where if the minis dont do it for me.... the game just wont. I know, Im a petty person So I placed my order and waited. To side step a moment, I have to say another big pro to OTL Games is they are very easy to get ahold of if you have any problems or questions. I was quickly notified that there was a bad batch of resin and so my order would be delayed a bit for the new resin to come in. Even after that, it only took just under 2 weeks to receive my order, which compared to some waiting times IVe had to endure, that was nothing, specially considering they were halted with bad resin.

Now the minis show up in a very well packed box, wrapped in large bubble wrap. I probably could of played a few games of kick ball with the package and had never known looking at the minis. Their clamshells are very nice and rigid, and Im sure youre thinking "Clamshells?!? DAMMIT!!" but they pop open very easily and are reusable. So a perfect clamshell.

Now onto whats inside. I bought a Dark Priest and a Risen Warrior. I prefer the badguys in games most times and think the "bad guys" in Endless fit the bill nicely. They have just the right look, where you can plainly tell they are not donating to march of dimes, and can tell you the best way to steal candy from a baby. I havnt touched up any of these, minus seeing how easy it was to scrape the mold lines off the minis from the Priest. It comes off easy enough, and overall the minis didnt have bad mold lines at all, it wouldnt take more than a few minutes to demold these guys.

Risen Warrior

Just keep in mind, these minis are still not cleaned at all. This one also comes with a sprue of arrows to put on the mini. It just adds a little touch of flavor to the overall look. The arrows help show off just how battered and worn out this warrior is, and that it will probably continue to try and hack and slash till the bitter end.

Dark Priest

I absolutely love the Dark Priest mini. It may seem simple on the surface, but Ive found looking at it, that they captured the characters arrogance perfectly. While the Warrior is pure cannon fodder, the Priest has several tricks to keep himself alive, as well as sap life away from enemies. This mini shows that it knows its a powerful being and enjoys what it does.

Now each mini you buy comes with a character card that tells you exactly what its stats are, and what its abilities do on the back. Theres no real guess work, no page flipping, its just there. Period. I love games that have stat cards because again, as a veteran 40K player, Im used to having to stop the game, and flip pages for 5-10 minutes. These stat cards are very colorful and bright, and include some nice artwork of the mini its meant for, again, cutting down on any guess work.

(Ive removed any stats and rules from the cards, this is just for looking pretty folks)

The backs look pretty similar but are covered in rules and abilities for the character. So I chose not to show that since itd be green and blue, and then white boxes everywhere
Now Ive read into some of the rules (I havnt bought a rulebook yet) and they seem pretty intuitive and easy to get down. Ive asked question about the game itself and have learned that it takes place in a pretty detailed world, with its own backstories and fluff. The game itself is played on a grid patterned board where the grids are 1 inch by 1 inch, again, just like tactics games of old. This allows players to either make a simple board quickly or, take more time and create a nice full board that would only add to the fun of the game. I have to say, that just what IVe learned, this will be a fun game to play, the minis look nice, the stat cards are gorgeous and the setting is right up my alley. They already have a large selection of models, and the game is still under a year old, with plans of creating many more. I know that Im going to give this one a try for sure, and add Endless Fantasy Tactics to my list of games to play with family and friends.
