Subject: Quick question: Walker weapons and damage results

I was certain that there was a rule that weapon destroyed results targeted walker's arms, ie. one result would destroy both a chainfist and built-in heavy flamer on a dreadnought. However, now as I've been looking for it, I can't seem to be able to find such a rule. So am I blind or deluded, does such a rule exist?

Damn. So I am. Maybe a mod can move this?

So I'm blind. I read that before and didn't notice it. However, how is the weapon originally randomised? Is there anything preventing built-in weapon counting as weapon for the purposes of randomisation?
For example, if a dreadnought has an assault cannon and a power fist with a built-in flamer, would you randomise it like this:
1-3 Assault Cannon
4-6 Power Fist (with a built-in Heavy Flamer)
Or like this:
1-2 Assault Cannon
3-4 Heavy Flamer
5-6 Power Fist (with a built-in Heavy Flamer)

If the flamer counts as a part of the weapon I doubt you should count it twice.

Built in weapons count when randomising, but if the weapon they are attached to is destroyed so are they, this means they have double the chance to be destroyed. In the above example, you would determine randomly between the Assault Cannon, the Heavy Flamer and the Power Fist, however, unless the Assault Cannon is destroyed the Heavy Flamer is toast.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

interesting question, in a technical term it is a different weapon in of itself, but the fact it is built in would indicate that it is just one weapon system that works in two different phases.
the norm is to accept that it is a single system that can be destroyed. it makes more sense that way anyway as having your arm ripped off will tend to take the watch your wearing with it

They are absolutely separate weapons for Weapon destroyed randomization.
For the actual application the Flamer both is, and is not a separate weapon depending on if it or the arm is hit.

I'm not so sure they do count towards the randomly selectable weapons.
they are built in weapons and are destroyed when the parent weapon is destroyed.
the rulebook itself is a little sketchy on that though.

The rules say a random weapon including built-in and combi-weapons, but not weapons without ammo.
