Hi guys, I'm playing a casual tourney amongst my friends and I'm running Necrons, We've all decided to make competitive lists and here's mine, what do you guys think?

So, general tactics include putting the lord with the wraiths and hitting hard on the opponents shooting units etc. while the AB move up slowly taking out things with conjunction with the DA to eliminate any units the warriors may have trouble with. Also, I don't really like scarabs, I just chucked them in because I had a spare 45 points

Your list has a very strong basic shape. I have played a list very like this and at tournaments you can win some games with it for sure. Here are my caveats:

Well maybe it won't happen this way for you, but every time I have played a single Doomsdsy Ark it has gotten popped. I have never fired the big gun more than twice, and generally only once. And then it gets killed. It isn't hard to kill tanks these days. The real advantage that the barges have is that they are so damn cheap.

Res orbs on single models? I don't find it is worth it. An extra one in six chance that you'll come back from the dead? For 30 pts? And often in tourney play they do that cheesy thing where they place their guys so you CANT get back up at all.

The wraiths are AMAZING. 3++ is the bomb. And they kill stuff. And ultimately you don't care if they die because they aren't scoring. They soak up lots of fire power. Can you get more?

Your warriors will want to stay in the scythes till scoring time. So do they need to be full squads? All of them?

Basically I'd be nudging you towards finding the points for another six wraiths if you can. 85 from swapping the DA for another barge? 65 for each warrior blob you half? 30 for the res orb? You can get the requisite points pretty easy.

Trust me. Six more wraiths will allow you to do things on the table. Like kill a riptide or two.

But wouldn't the res orb help the wraiths if they joined the destroyer Lord?

No wraiths don't have reanimation protocols. Although your d.lord will rise on a +4 and if ur wraith squad gets wiped out it can join a warrior squad and every one gets a re roll!

Well, looks quite good up to the res. orb as said above. I'd drop it and add some more Scarabs.

Wraiths, Scarabs, Spyders and some Forgeworld stuff are all Canoptek creatures. Servant robots tending to the sleeping tombworld. Low level AIs. Not Necrontyrs bound in living metal and cursed with soul-less life eternal. So no reanimation protocols for them.

Some people do still take the orbs on dlords in that circumstance - even in tournament lists etc. but for me it doesn't seem worth the points.
