Well, Christmas has been and gone, and i have some new arrivals to my small necron force (thanks parents), so, ive got a couple of night scythes. And im still unsure of how to play them. Anyways. This is a quick list i just made, including what i already have.... It sucks, but could become something.

hq:
necron overlord 90pts
royal court: 4 stormteks with voltaic staffs, and a despairtek with Veil of darkness 160pts
troops:
5 warriors with a night scythe 165pts
5 warriors with a night scythe 165pts
heavy support:
monolith 200pts
lord of war:
transcendent c'tan with transliminal stride, cosmic fire and wave of withering 720pts

total: 1500pts exactly

Well, I'd drop the Monolith and get some more Warriors. How many tanks do you expect in a 1500 pt game?

You could play the overlord as Trazyn and make the cryptek unit very resilient and more importantly: SCORING.
