@youwashock: Thanks for the sympathy. It's not that bad except for the money part; there's no pain or anything.

@Nev: Thanks!

Small update: No real progress on the painting front, but I did assemble some characters for my Space Wolves:

2 Wolf Lords on Thunderwolves and a Rune Priest with a jump pack. My current plan is to run these as a Supreme Command Detachment alongside a main force of Dark Angels. I'm not a huge fan of the jaunty angle that the one rider is at, but that is actually how it's supposed to look, as shown on GW's website and the box art for Thunderwolf Cavalry. I think it's supposed to look like the wolf is rounding a corner or something. I'm just going with it.

Hopefully soon I'll have some painting progress to share.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

One advantage of wolves over bikes. When you are hammered drunk and falling out of the saddle, the wolf will try to keep you up there and from crashing into things. The bike is heading straight into a tree.

Nice looking builds.

@Nev: Thanks, and I guess you're right. Space Wolves would tend to be the most likely Marines to try going into battle drunk.

Work continues on the Primaris Battle Leader, but not so much on the other models I'm trying to get done. Here's where he's at right now:

He's mostly done, actually. Next major detail to be picked out will be the black parts, namely the casing on the carbine, the joints in the power armor, and the freehand pack markings. I'm also working on the gems and I will add a simple blue glow effect on the power ax blade. After all that is done, I'll just have the skin, hair, and pelts to finish, plus the base. The base will probably involve my first attempt at snow.

In other news, I recently bought a bunch of the Space Marine Heroes because I love how characterful the models are. Here's a bunch of them that I assembled:

Unfortunately I didn't get the one with the missile launcher, and I got repeats of three of the guys shown, but I did get something...better:

That's right, I got lucky and pulled the hard-to-find Captain Thassarius model. That made me extremely happy. Ultimately the models will not be painted as Ultramarines, but rather as Blood Ravens. The repeat guys will probably become Dark Angels. I'm actually going to hold off painting these models until next March, most likely, to use as the subject of that month's painting challenge, which if it follows established tradition will be Space Marine themed.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

There -may- be some of those heroes showing up in The Boy’s and my Christmas stockings this year. It’s an interesting concept at a good price point. I’m not buying hard into them, as the “gotta catch em all” bug was burned out of me by CCGs years ago. Don’t have the budget for that. But I always believed that a mix of monopose and multipart is the bast way to fill out an army. You can just get better poses and flow from a mini when you don’t need to worry about part interchangeability. But you want your army to be more then just the same 5 guys repeated.

I like supporting my FLGS, so they make for a good impulse purchase. I can see myself picking up a few more. But once I pass the point where I’m likely to get dupes, I’m probably done.

I’ve heard they are slightly off scale. How do they stand next to a normal marine a/o primaris?

Hi Zerg, another army wow, I'm always impressed by how quickly you can get your stuff built and painted.

Bloodthirster, Mortarion and how you paint your Death Guard are my favs out of all your models.

I like how you are never afraid to take on the big and imposing models like Guilliman and Mortarion. Well done and keep up the good work.

I got a box of those SM Heroes for my son for Christmas last year. Although the boxes are blind, they come two each to a box when you buy the full set when you buy them here.

Now showing more Samurai Marines, Bad Squiddo Amazons, and an Oldhammer Chaos Thug!

@Nev: I figured the Heroes would be right up your alley. They are pretty cool. Scalewise, they aren't too different from other non-Primaris models, but the textured bases and their poses make them look a little taller.

@MG: Thanks! I'm pretty proud of all of my Death Guard stuff; definitely among what I consider to be my best work.

@Josh: That's interesting that they are sold differently in Japan, but of course that's where they started out, so maybe it kind of figures. Those would be perfect for kids as a method for getting them excited about Warhammer.

Got a few WIP shots of some of the various models I'm currently working on. First up, here's the Primaris Battle Leader as he stands now:

All that's left to do on him is to shade and highlight his gray hair, plus add a highlight to the wolf pelt. I am also going to add some snow to his base, but not over the whole thing. I used Stirland Mud texture paint so it would contrast well with the snow. I'll probably paint the rim of the base black.

Next, here's my Dark Angels Aggressors:

The armor itself is done, and I'm in the process of basecoating a lot of the smaller details like the gun casings, cables, and chest eagles.

Finally, here is the Librarian now that I've gotten a little bit more work done on him:

The gold on the staff didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, so I'm going to first paint the staff in its underlying color, and then drybrush gold over that to catch all the raised detail. The head of the staff turned out good, though.

I'm putting Logan Grimnar on the back burner; I've got too much else going on to work on him right now. I need the Aggressors and Librarian done by next weekend for a charity tournament I'll be playing in, so they have to take priority. Hopefully I can get back to Grimnar before the year is out, though.

On the assembly front, I put together some Space Wolves to add to the "to prime" pile. Here's a unit of Long Fangs with Missiles:

And here is a unit of Blood Claws, complete with a Wolf Guard Pack Leader in the rear:

These Blood Claw models are actually rescues from the used model bin at my FLGS, hence why several of them have the same wolfy helmet. They were on 25mm bases, so base adapter rings to the rescue! The models mostly didn't have any backpacks either, but I had a few spares since I built those Long Fangs and they have Devastator backpacks specific to the missile launchers.

My next post should feature the completed Primaris Battle Leader, and probably some WIP shots on some of the other stuff.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

I finally finished the Primaris Battle Leader, so without further ado here are the final photos:

I absolutely loved painting this model. The sculpt has a very cool dynamic pose worthy of a Son of Russ. It also gave me the chance to try out some new things, most notably some actual edge highlighting (as opposed to the drybrushing I usually do for edges) and snow effects on the base. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Even the freehand pack markings on the kneepad and shoulder came out well, I think. If anything, I should use a little smaller piles of snow on the base next time. I wanted it to look like it was starting to melt, so I brushed some clear gloss over the snow and some of the surrounding ground (hard to tell in the photos though, so maybe I should do 2 coats of that instead next time). I'll have to play around with it and see what I end up liking.

Anyhoo, that's all for now, I'll get back to the Dark Angels for a little while and then decide what I'm going to paint for December's painting challenge. I might actually paint some Infinity stuff, or get started on Blackstone Fortress once I pick it up.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

@youwashock: Thanks! I'm pretty happy with the Aggressors so far myself, too.

Long time, no update. Real life has been kicking my butt (same old excuse lol). Finally got the permanent crown put on my tooth last week, and they did some final adjustments to my bite earlier today, so hopefully that's all done. I'm going to have to have one of my wisdom teeth pulled sometime in the next couple of months, as it has a big cavity in it and it'll probably start hurting if I let it linger too long. Same thing happened with the same one on the other side a few years ago, and that one did start to hurt before I took care of it.

Anyway, here's a quick WIP shot of the two Thunderwolf mounts for my Lords:

The fur is basecoated, and the patterns laid out. I wanted them to be different somewhat, so I used a basecoat of Mechanicus Standard Gray for the one on the left, and a basecoat of Skavenblight Dinge for the other one. I then used appropriate colors to make a good pattern on each one. Next up will be blending the colors together with a drybrush of Terminatus Stone (on both wolves), then probably a shade or two. Duncan's old tutorial on how to paint Thunderwolves has been immensely helpful, even though he used brown colors for his. I've also gotten a coat of Russ Gray on the riders and Rune Priest, but I'll wait to put up a WIP shot of them until I get some more colors down.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):

Finally back with another update. In between my hectic holiday stuff, I've managed to get at least a little bit of painting in. My two Thunderwolves are very nearly done, although there is much work left to do on the riders. Here are some WIP shots (sorry if the quality is not the best):
Latest shot of the Thunderwolves:

Here's a shot of the Lords that will ride them:

Finally, here's the Jump Pack Rune Priest:

As I said, plenty of work left to do on the guys, but the wolves are pretty much done except for some minor details and their bases. I'm really happy with how their fur turned out; it's actually not that hard to do either. These models will likely be my last for this year, as I've been a bit under the weather lately and that is slowing me way down. I just hope I can actually finish them in time.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Coming down to the wire now. I'm nearly done with the Space Wolves characters, so here is a final set of WIP photos:

The only main detail left to do on these guys is the faces (skin and hair/beards). The Thunderwolves are all done except for finishing their bases, and they don't look very different from the last photo, hence no new one. I'm really happy with how the glow effect on the Rune Priest's sword turned out; simple, yet effective. I may add a little bit more to the sword, but the runes are going to stay as-is. I should be able to get done in the next three days, and then I'll post final shots of these models.

I'm also going to be doing my annual year-end review of my hobby progress very soon. May not get to it on the 31st as usual (although I'm going to try), but it'll be within the next week or so for sure. Looks like I'll have a pretty good bucketload of models to show off in that compared to previous years, so I'll have to figure out a good way to present it. Stay tuned for that!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Made it in under the wire! As promised, here are the final shots of my Space Wolves characters:

Far from my best work, but better than the stuff I used to do for sure. I'm kind of sad that I couldn't get the glowing runes to come out better on the Rune Priest; they look okay in person, but it's not easy to photograph with my lighting and camera. I'm especially happy with how the fur on the Thunderwolves turned out. Not to toot my own horn, but I'm surprised at how easy it was to achieve the effect I got. I'm also pretty happy with the freehand shoulder pad designs. Since these are Wolf Lords, I didn't want to give them Blackmanes shoulder insignias; these guys have their own Great Companies to lead into battle. Of course, most of my other Space Wolves will be Blackmanes, but...eh. I am looking forward to putting these guys on the tabletop and seeing what they can do.

My next post will be my traditional year end review, although it'll be a little later than normal. I need to go back and recount my painted models and get an exact tally, and decide what I actually painted to an acceptable finished level and what I'll have to count as only partly done (and will probably finish in 2019). Look forward to that in the next couple of days!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

A Protoss colony world

So, 2018 has come to a close (actually two days ago now), and it's time to evaluate how I did as far as hobbying. I had a number of firsts this year, including first time running a fully painted army in a tournament, first time going to a large gaming event (Adepticon), and first time painting Space Wolves, Imperial Knights, and painting over 100 models in a year. But to really kick this post off, here is a shot of everything I painted in 2018:

I put a few models in there that aren't up to my usual standards, but are unlikely to significantly change in appearance (either due to me not wanting to go back and touch them up or because they only need a couple of tiny details or highlights). I'd rather count those for 2018 than 2019.

The final tally of painted models for 2018: 134 models. That includes big ones like vehicles and Knights, about which I say like Gimli in The Return of the King, "That still only counts as one!"
The list of models painted, by game system and faction:
Warhammer 40,000
Dark Angels
Ravenwing Talonmaster
10 Scouts
6 Inceptors with Plasma Exterminators
Repulsor
Ravenwing Dark Talon
Space Wolves
2 Wolf Lords on Thunderwolves
Rune Priest with Jump Pack
Primaris Battle Leader with Bolt Carbine and Power Axe
Officio Assassinorum
Vindicare Assassin
Culexus Assassin
Callidus Assassin
Eversor Assassin
Imperial Knights
Imperial Knight (magnetized to be any Questoris-class Knight)
Chaos Space Marines
32 Chaos Cultists
10 Noise Marines
10 Khorne Berzerkers
Chaos Rhino
Daemon Prince of Slaanesh
Abaddon the Despoiler
Chaos Sorcerer with Force Sword
Chaos Sorcerer with Force Stave and Jump Pack
Death Guard
Foetid Bloat-drone
Chaos Daemons
5 Bloodletters of Khorne (empty bases in photo as they have been sold since they were painted)
6 bases of Nurglings
T'au Empire
Commander in Coldstar Battlesuit
Darkstrider
Ethereal on Hover Drone
8 Fire Warriors
20 Shield Drones
XV104 Riptide Battlesuit
Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game
5 Easterling Kataphrakts

As you can see, I painted no non-GW models at all in 2018, which is something I'd like to change this year. And on that note, let's take a look at my goals for 2018 and whether or not I accomplished them at all:
1) Paint more models than 2017, meaning 66 or more. Mission Accomplished, by a long shot!
2) FINISH THE PARTIALLY PAINTED MODELS, DAMMIT! Nope, basically didn't touch them, because none of it was stuff I was likely to play anyways.
3) Take a fully-painted army to a tournament in 2018, besides Adepticon, which I have to bring fully painted models to. Got this one down, as I played in two other GT's besides Adepticon and brought a fully painted army to each of them, in addition to a charity team event.
4) Finish the Dark Imperium set's models. Still have a Lord of Contagion, Noxious Blightbringer, Malignant Plaguecaster, Foetid Bloat-drone, and 10 more Poxwalkers to do. Only did the Bloat-drone, so I've still got work to do here.
5) Get a lightbox and take better photos. Still no lightbox, and my photos haven't improved too much. I probably need a better camera, but I really can't afford one.
6) Stop buying every shiny thing that comes across my path. That may mean staying away from eBay unless there's something specific I really need. Specific goal for this is to paint more than I buy and therefore reduce the pile of shame. I was doing pretty good on this, then Blackstone Fortress happened. I know it was still close, especially since I sold a bunch of Daemon models, which reduces the pile of shame. I'm honestly not sure how many models I bought, but I might have painted more. I don't honestly know.
7) Finish working on the bits boxes. Worked on them some, but definitely not finished.
8) Bonus Goal: Finish an army. As in fully painted and based. Not likely, which is why I'm considering it a bonus rather than an actual goal as it's unlikely to happen in 2018. I actually got three tournament ready forces painted, but no whole armies were finished. Still plenty of stuff to paint for all of my armies.

New hobby goals for 2019:
1) Get better at playing Warhammer 40k. I want to win a tournament this year if possible. I won't be totally destroyed if it doesn't happen as our local meta is very tough, but I'm hoping to improve my play.
2) Reduce the pile of shame, as in paint more than I buy. Due to RL stuff happening, this should be easy, as I won't be buying as much plastic crack (my money is needed elsewhere).
3) Get the bits boxes done. I'm already benefitting from what I've done so far, so now I just need to finish them so I don't have to fish through so many boxes and sprues to find bits I need.
4) Paint everything from Blackstone Fortress. I probably won't play it until I do so.
5) Improve my freehand painting. It's coming along nicely already, but I want to get even better.
6) Paint some non-GW models. I've got a few around, including Infinity, Star Saga, Guildball, and others, and they need some love. Plus it'll be nice to paint stuff that isn't Warhammer related too.
7) Finish up a bunch of partially painted models. I've got a bunch of Death Guard stuff, some Dark Angels, and even some Tau in this category. I really need to go ahead and finish them.
8) Play some non-Warhammer 40k games. I've got stuff from some other systems as mentioned in goal 6 above, so I want to use it. It'll make a nice refreshing change from battles in the grimdark future.

And finally, here is my top 5 best things I painted, in my opinion:
#5: Daemon Prince of Slaanesh

#4: Darkstrider

#3: Dark Angels Primaris Repulsor

#2: Ravenwing Dark Talon

#1: Imperial Knight of House Heraan

Happy (belated) New Year everyone!

@Nev, youwashock, WK: Thanks guys! Stick around and you'll see what happens with me in 2019. It'll be fun, I promise!

Okay, time for my first regular hobby update for the year. I've started in on my Blackstone Fortress models, with Taddeus the Purifier and Pious Vorne being my entry for the January painting challenge. Here's my first WIP shot of those two:

Humble beginnings I know, but as the Chinese say, the longest journey begins with a single step. I hope to make a lot more progress soon.

Also being worked on are the Ur-ghuls from that set. I've only started basecoating their pale skin, so here's where they are at now:

I'll probably add a layer of Ulthuan Gray to make them really bright, and then shade with thinned down Coelia Greenshade to give them a greenish tinge. These guys should be really quick to finish; the Warhammer TV tutorial is a really good guide to how to get these guys painted, and I'm basically following that.

I hope to have more updates on these and other models from Blackstone Fortress soon.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Making more progress on the Blackstone Fortress models:
Taddeus the Purifier and Pious Vorne latest WIP:

Ur-ghuls latest WIP:

On the heroes, most of the base colors are down now. Still a few small details to pick out, but those will be easy. I do need to shade and highlight the metallics on them, and that will probably be the next step. On the Ur-ghuls, there is actually very little left to do. I was going to add another shade to the faces (a reddish tint with Carroburg Crimson), add a fine highlight of Ulthuan Gray over the shaded areas to make them a little less stark and help blend the areas into the rest of the model, and after that it'll be on to the bases.

Nice round up of the year Zerg and wow you have done a lot. Agree that the knight does look like your best model.

Sorting out the bits box can be very helpful, I've had to do it for my collection or I'd never find anything, problem is there is always more
Would love to see you with some better photos of all your hard painted mins too

Good progress so far on the Blackstone Fortress models, the flames are looking good.

@youwashock: Thanks!

@MG: Thanks! I'm sure you do know about bits boxes since you have a decent Ork collection. Better photos will hopefully come once I figure out more as far as backgrounds. I really need to make a cheap lightbox or something and get some actual daylight bulbs for my lamps.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but not much was happening on the P&M front until recently. I finally finished the Ur-ghuls' bases, so they are all done and I'm officially on the board for painting stuff in 2019. Here are a couple of photos:

Far from my best work, but definitely good enough to play with. Not entirely happy with the bases, but again, they are good enough and don't look totally terrible. I may try adding some gloss to them, although I really should try going for a more satin finish. I'll see what I can figure out.

I'm almost done with Taddeus and Pious. Just a few details to pick out and clean up, plus the bases. Here's a (somewhat crappy) WIP shot:

Just a few more days left to knock these out. I should have enough time. Hopefully.

In other news, I decided to build the Intercessors from Know No Fear as Space Wolves. No photo as I'm not totally finished, but I'll probably put some of the little talismans and stuff on them to make them look more Space Wolf-y. I'm also building a second Dark Talon for my Dark Angels army. I'm planning to run two of them in lists as they are really awesome in games.

Hopefully my next post will have finished shots of Taddeus the Purifier and Pious Vorne. See you all then!

Thanks to Flinty, I can't not see those Ur-ghuls as holding hands. Changes the models for me. Dramatically.

The zealotous types are looking quite cool. Digging on those flames.

@youwashock: Thanks! And yeah, the poses for the Ur-ghuls do look like they are holding hands. Maybe I should put them in a little circle around a campfire or something.

I finally finished working on Taddeus the Purifier and Pious Vorne. Here are the final photos:

The photos don't do them justice, and they really make the gold look flat. Not sure what I need to do to fix that as far as my camera work, but something's gotta give, as they don't look that flat in person. Maybe I need different lighting. Either way, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, and I think I've got the basing sorted. I wouldn't mind getting them just a bit shinier, but this will do for now. I don't want them to look totally glossy either.

Next up will probably be some more Blackstone Fortress models for February's painting challenge. I will probably do one of the explorers and a set of the hostiles each month until I get them all done, although hopefully I can get more done than that so I can get playing the game. Anyways, for next month it'll probably be UR-025 and the Chaos Beastmen, or perhaps the Spindle Drones. We'll see what I'm in the mood to do.

@youwashock: Thanks!

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. RL has been a pain in the ass again. But, I've finally gotten some work done on some Blackstone Fortress stuff, so here are a couple of WIP shots:
First, the Spindle Drones:

The bodies are done; I'll probably touch up the legs a bit, and then pick out the eye lenses and any other small details that need attention.

And here's the first WIP shot of the Imperial Robot, UR-025:

Still a ton of work left to do on this guy. I'm mainly following the Warhammer TV painting guide for him, other than priming the model white (haven't had much luck with white primer in the past). The green color looks messy now, but once I do some drybrushing light gray over it there won't be more than a hint of green visible anyways.

Other than these models, I'm working on putting my second Ravenwing Dark Talon together. I'm looking forward to running two of them in games, as they are really solid units. Hopefully I'll have more progress to show soon, both on the Blackstone Fortress and other projects.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

More progress on the Blackstone Fortress front:
Spindle Drones current WIP:

All that's left to do on these is the bases really.
UR-025 WIP:

Lots more left to do on this guy, but the off-white armor is done. More green is showing than I originally intended, but that might actually be kind of a happy accident, as now he looks like he used to be painted green, got a coat of white painted over that, but that has worn away in spots to expose the green underneath. As can be seen in the photo, I've also basecoated the orange on the casings for his weapons.

More coming soon, as I've got to get the Spindle Drones done before the end of the month for the painting challenge.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Digging the light to dark fade in the drones. Getting a retro sci-fi feel from the bot. I like it.

@youwashock: UR-025 does have kind of a retro feel to his design. I almost wanted to paint him in shiny silver (like one of the classic BSG Cylons), but decided it would be easier to stick with the "stock" paint scheme for the most part. On the drones, that light to dark fade is achieved simply by drybrushing progressively lighter colors over a black undercoat.

I finished the Spindle Drones, so here are the final pics of them:

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, even if they are only tabletop standard. They'll serve their purpose when I actually play Blackstone Fortress and look like they are supposed to, so I'm satisfied. I haven't made any real progress on UR-025 since my last update, just adding some shade and highlights to the orange parts, so no new photo of him yet. He'll start looking more interesting soon. Meanwhile, I have to figure out which enemy unit from the boxed game I want to tackle next. I'll probably do either the Chaos Space Marines or some of the Traitor Guardsmen. The next hero I'm planning to do will be the Navigator, Espern Locarno.

My next entry in the monthly painting challenge will be my set of Space Marine Heroes. I'll paint all 6 of them (pity I don't have the full set), and then my entry will be the Captain, Sergeant, and the three best bolter guys. They'll be painted as Blood Ravens rather than Ultramarines.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
