Hey folks, I've just gotten into Dropzone Commander with 2 starter sets plus another couple of bits and bobs because they looked shiny.

However, I'm finding it fairly difficult to make up the actual army lists, even using the downloadable tool.

For example, the rulebook mentions that a praetorian squad in a Bear can share a Condor with an infantry squad in a bear, yet I don't know of any battlegroups that can have both exotic and infantry.

From the looks of it, I should be aiming for 2 1750 point, 'Clash' scale armies.

I currently have:

Scourge
1 Desolator
1 Command Deck
6 Hunter Tanks
6 Reaper AA Tanks
12 Infantry Warrior bases
6 Invader APCs
6 Marauder Medium Dropships

UCM
1 Kodiak
1 Command Deck
6 Sabre Tanks
6 Rapier Tanks
12 Infantry Legionnaire bases
6 Bear APCs
6 Condor Medium Dropships
2 Archangel Interceptors

The problem I'm finding is what to do with my 2 additional Bear/Invader APCs. - Are the new Infantry Squads going to come in handy, perhaps? For example, A Praetorian Sniper squad paired with a Praetorian squad, sharing 2 Bears in a Condor. - Is that really allowed, or remotely useful?

For my UCM, this would give me something like:

And, for my Scourge models... Well, these seem a bit harder to pull off, as I have a lower ranked commander (not that I know how that influences things much). Prowlers seem cool, but I was half tempted by going for Minders instead.

So, what are your thoughts, folks? I've played just a couple of starter set games, so they don't exactly tell me loads about how the full sized game works.

Good question! I never actually thought about the praetorian bit myself. You should ask it here. Hawk Simon (or someone else) will answer your question very quickly.

The pretorian and legionnaires is for possible future special commanders who may change some of the list building table.

Cheers. Was hoping I'd missed something in the army list building.

The new snipers and praetorians still work though, right?

Tournies have all been 1500 so far, so you'll have a little extra for that. Although we plan to try some 2000 point games here soon, I've been waiting till I'm faster with the rules.

I will have a look over your Scourge list later, need to remind myself of a few names before I comment.

So, slightly grating that the extra purchases are coming to £100 but, hey, that's not bad for finishing 2 armies

I ended up wimping out and only buying up to 1500 points or so. Hopefully there is other good sales in the future, though. So my current purchases for the game are:
2 starter sets
2 archangels
1 Albatross
1 Kodiak
4 wolverines
2 Raven Bs
Ucm cards

1 Desolator
2 Corsairs
2 slayer heavy tanks
1 set of razorworms
Scourge cards

Looks good, but I might try proxying those heavy slayer tanks as Tormentors. My friend, who won the DzC tourney at GenCon, swears that's the best unit in the game! Flaming infantry hiding in buildings is fantastic for many scenarios.
