So i need some help in choosing one of these 2 games. It would be nice to get some input from someone who has played both.
I have a rather decent gaming machine so im fine in those terms.
I already have a good profile on World of Tanks, which i heard is beneficial.
Thanks for any help.

War thunder all the way, it has better planes, better controls and all around better gameplay. It also has better maps and seems more balanced.
I have sunk some 150 hours into War thunder and some 50 hours into World Of Warplanes, and the latter shows signs of being rushed and far from finished.
It doesnt feel like a beta when you play it dont worry. Plus tanks will be added eventually too. I dont know if it will be on the same maps or not though.
I play world of warplanes and really enjoy it. One thing that gives it an edge is that I can share experience and gold between it and my world of tanks account.
I'd say war thunder. It's accurate, its fun, and its challenging even in the higher teirs. Trying to down a bomber? have fun as 5 guns rain death on you. Also, Jet Fighters, and unguided rockets. When you kill someone by bombing them, then you feel like god.

War Thunder's newest update made the grind way more insane sadly. According to one account I heard, if you played 40 hours a week, it would take you a year to reach jets in a single nation's airforce. That's just ridiculous.
It's faster at rank 1-2, but from 3 and on the grind gets ridiculous. As fun as the game is that level of grind just burnt me out really quick. You play for hours and just don't seem to earn anything new.
Doubt world of Warplanes is better though. I like War Thunder when I ignore the grind and just play it for the heck of it. Also the game is beautiful.
What's stopping you from trying both OP? They're both F2P

I play World of Warplanes. I've played World of Tanks since it came out, so even though I have heard great things about War Thunder, i'm for Wowp. Both games have their advantages and disadvantages. Like Gossipmeng said, you share gold and premium, which is a plus if you already play World of Tanks (WoT).
It is interesting that War Thunder is coming out with tanks too, but it kinda feels like they are stepping on Wargamings toes alittle bit.

I'm abit torn between the two, but i'm starting to lean more towards War Thunder due to the various planes and nations it has in it and something tells me that there is still more to come in that game.
Not saying that World of Warplanes is a bad game, it just lacks that extra something that War Thunder have and the same goes for World of Tanks vs War Thunder ground forces.
One is just more abit tad arcade type of game than the other i guess.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his need

I'd agree if war thunders tanks didn't look a hundred times better then world of tanks. Plus, it has none of that sight range nonsense.

April 2009: Wargaming.net announces World of Tanks
April 1, 2001: Gaijin announces World of Planes (in 2012 renamed to War Thunder)
June 2011: Wargaming.net announces World of Warplanes May 2013: Gaijin announces War Thunder Ground Forces
It's more of a "leveling the playing field", I suppose.

Not to mention War Thunder goes with far more realistic damage models than World of tanks HP system, where you can shoot an enemy tank in the cupola 30 times and suddenly it explodes like a bomb hit it. In War Thunder, the first shot would cripple a few systems and maybe kill your commander, but from there it would be pointless to keep shooting there. Will keep the game a lot more tactical and make having a heavy tank actually mean something.
Plus that "pop in" sighting system World of Tanks has drives me crazy. I would rather have tanks visible at all times, but they only get "lit up" if you're within a certain range, like War Thunder does it.

Warthunder changed their system of getting new aircraft. When I was last playing you purchased them ( which was great!) But now you have to research then buy them and it takes a long long time. The one cool thing is I get to play at the lower levels more which are the best levels.
However, as we have acknowledged, the true fault is the artificial viewing distances.
I call it a strength. yes it artificial (it is a game afterall) but it is what makes it so enjoyable. If there was a true line of sight mechanic it would remove most of the strategy from the game beyond camping, scouting makes the game so much more interesting.
What is the control system like in War Thunder? If its anything like WoWp then I am not going near it.....

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

If you do historical or simulation, you don't get any damage reports, you have to look out for oil heat and stress on the plane.
Such a good system, It goes from a WOT arcade style system to a microsoft flight simulator system.
I love flying my Beaufighters in simulator mode, and Spitfires...
I dont have a joystick so im stick on arcade, do you use mouse for simulator? If so how tricky is it? Because if you find it fine with the mouse I may move on to simulator
