Subject: Eldar: Rangers vs Windriders

I am making an Iyanden army and am debating between either two units of rangers or two units of Windriders to fill ou my troop choices.
I currently have 3 units of Wraithguard in Wave Serpents, two with dscythes and one with cannons. They are my offensive push to grab objectives outside of my starting zone.
I have 2 units of Swooping Hawks. They are used to disrupt my opponent's back lines and are my primary anti-hoard units.
I have 2 wraithknights, standard cannons. Used for anti tank and to draw fire and tie up units.
My headquarters are 2 spiritseers to ride with the Wraithguard.
These final troop choices would most likely be used to hold objectives in my starting zone. I am leaning towards the rangers, which could hunker down in terrain and hold objectives. The windriders are nice though, because they could shoot out from behind blocking terrain to grab objectives last turn.
What do you guys think?

I'd go rangers, however, both are great.

Rangers vs. Jetbikes is a bit of a misnomer... it implies there is an actual contest when there is none. JBikes are in every way preferable.
They are faster.
Have better armor.
Have armor (cuz I don't really count 5+ as armor... which is kinda hypocritical since I use DE).
Shoot more.
SCannon gives access to shots that usually wound better than 4up.
They are way faster.
They can move and shoot in the same turn.
Granted I've gotten a few golden BBs with Rangers; I think for a total kill count of like 2 Rhinos and 16 infantry... over 40 or so matches.
JBikes on the other hand have gotten me 2 Heldrake tailpipe kills and have won -singlehandedly- over 15 matches through last turn objective stealing or contesting.

I loved using Pathfinders in the last codex. Rangers in this book, and this meta, kinda stink. Too many things rock the "ignores cover" that will annihiliate your Rangers in no time. Jetbikes are easily the best troops choice in the game right now. Just over 50 points worth of "last minute turbo-boost for the victory!", you can't go wrong.

One unit of Rangers is great to have. Especially when there are Scouting White Scars bikers on the table opposite of you. They're 60 points, so cost pittance and they might occasionally do something on the table. And as mentioned, their Infiltrate rule makes them a tactical asset.
Windrider jetbikes are a no-brainer. Their 48" movement is sick and a squad of 3 has a very small footprint and is easy to hide. In an objective based game, they're best spent 51 points in the codex.
That said, just take one of each, as they serve a completely different purpose in a list.

I agree with RH. The only advantage rangers bring is the ability to speedbump white scars and khorne dogs. Unless your meta is overrun with those armies (and wraith lists do pretty well against them) jetbikes are superior in every way.
And with the new rules, a barebones inquisitor with 3 servo skulls performs the speedbump role better for less points.

To many things ignore Cover. Most real competitive lists will have a squad or unit dedicated to burning out a cover save based unit on a home objective.
That saying, having a unit of Rangers to MC hunt if your worried about MCs or to man a ADL with a Gun to give you some Intercepting AA is kind of nice. Otherwise Jetbikes.
