'lo thar

I've been collecting blood angels for a wile now and have begun to branch out and start painting them in new chapter colours.

One thing that has really interested me though is Blood angels miniatures that end up looking a dark orange. I attempted to create some like this myself but they just end up looking straight up orange.

What citadel paints would I need to use and how in order to make the miniatures look like the ones below?

Any information on how I could reach this standard is most welcome, preferably using the citadel paints range.

Thanks, The tallest giraffe

I think those models were primed white and then basecoated Blood Red (which is actually kind of orange rather then red. They used a wash or ink and then highlighted with blazing or fiery orange. just imo

I concur, they look like they were painted a really bright red with lots of orange highlights.

Yep. Use a white basecoat and the old blood red.

It's what used to be called Blood Angels Orange in the original Citadel line. Probably best done over a Blood Red base, or it might be a little too tangerine.
