In comparison to normal cavalry how big are they as models? Could you easily use them as an alternative mount instead of a horse and still have them fit onto a horse base in formation without trouble?

They are monstrous cav, on MC sized bases. They are much too big to be proxied for a horse.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Hmm sadly google isn't showing me a good comparison shot between them and a horse - they are bigger, but they seem thin (as opposed to say a khorn mount which is more stocky).

Anyone got a photo of one next to a horse or even just standing on a regular horse base so I can get some idea of comparable scale? (most photos I find are either blurry/zoomed out too far or focus only on the Demigryph

From the ones i've seen, they are thin enough to stand on the cav base but there's no way they'd fit in a formation together.

Hmm the only comparison I've found

suggest that they are not too much different in size to a Chaos Knight. Though that's without a converted rider mounted which might make thema touch wide. Then again that could be countered a bit by mounting each one a little forward/back from the other and alternating the front line.
