No one is forcing her to do anything. We all play and she has hesitated to. Now that my friends wife plays too she can have someone else to play with besides a bunch of guys. She likes to paint and is better then me. Now she can play with something she makes instead of painting some thing of mine and me getting to use it.

Space Wolves are pretty bad ass. They were my first army and are pretty good at a lot of things. Logan Grimnar is a pretty good HQ, though Rune Priest are also amazingly strong. Rune Priests are basically the Wolves equivalent of Psykers/Libbys.
though just depends on the points you all use to play. To me also anything with Claw in its name is worthless. Just use Greyhunters, they're probably the best troops she'll ever field. WolfGuard are also pretty amazing and Thunderwolf Cavalry are amazing CC monsters,

Wolves are pretty cool. They have lots of character and several options. Points level really limit what you can do as some of th stronger units are expensive, but totally worth their points.
Their only real drawback is that they don't have a flyer of their own.

I assume things like saga of the "" give a buff of some sort. And I think there was something of the bear or wolf that does the same. And are there lightning claws not good?

You really need to read the codex. Wolf Claws are better than normal lightning claws.
At the end of the day, SW are space marines. Their equipment has the same strength and weaknesses as the SM equipment of the same name. Everything else has its own rules and nothing but personal preference and experance will tell you if its good or bad.

Bjorn the Fell-Handed (the Dreadnought HQ) is more expensive than he should be. I'm sure he was better in 5th edition when Hull Points weren't a thing, but he's more expensive than a Land Raider and the few times I've used him were for the lolz because he's never made up his value.
Also, when Captskillet mentioned than anything with -claw being bad, he didn't mean Wolf Claws; he meant Bloodclaws, Skyclaws, and Swiftclaws. Bloodclaws have disappointed me more than a few times and I only have five left that I haven't re-painted as Wolfguard or Grey Hunters.

Yeah, don't worry about Dreadnoughts, for now (including Bjorn, who can lose you extra kill points). With luck, they'll get buffed in the new Codex (differing stories about when that will be out, but most seem to agree within a year).
A Battleforce Box Set is a good place to start - it includes a Drop Pod and the makings of 20 Grey Hunters, who will be the backbone of the army.
Depending on your/her tastes, some people like Bikers, some like Thunderwolf Cavalry (they ride enormous wolves). Rune Priests are staples of the army, as are Long Fangs (you'll have to use the Space Marine Devastator Squad Box Set and likely add some of the leftover bitz from the Battleforce to make them more Space Wolf-y...). The Finecast models are a bigger headache than they're likely worth - most of the models who are represented in Finecast can be made from the box sets.
But, yes, pick up a Codex to have a better idea of what you want and what you can do.

Congrats!!! I have tried what you did with no success, so try to win her heart with the wolfs ;p
Anyways, Space Wolf has been considered one of the best Space Marines codexs with good reasons:
1. Their scoring Troop, Grey Hunters, is very efficient. They can get 2 special guns+bolter+close combat weapon+pistol+counter attack. That means they can shoot well and hand people's butts back to them in combat whether charging or being charged by enemies. Just Solid.
2. They can have a lot of character in the army. While normal people can only field 2 HQ, Space Wolf can field 4 HQ!! Not to mention they can field Lone Wolfs that act independently just like a character would.
3. Their Scout is awesome, can come from any board edge on 3+ even from behind. The heavy support dudes, Long Fang, can split fire without needing anyone's help.
4. Rune Priests can cancel magic on a dice roll of 4+ unlimited range, one of the best magic defense. Not to mention they can use Jaws of the Wold Wolf that can kill a lot of low Initiative dudes with ease... 200+ points Necron Lord? poof bye bye...
5. As above, Thunder Cavalry is also very nasty in hand-to-hand combat, and very wolfy.
So, over all, their troops Grey Hunters are short-medium range multi-role dudes (Close Combat+short range shooting+holding objectives by not getting killed in combat). They have plenty of HQ and Characters. And, their other units are very specialized with clear roles... doing very well at that too.
Solid army. They only weakness is probably in Air defense, but you can fix that with ally easily later on in large games.
I would help her start by buying a few models that she thinks look cool to paint. This game is about nice looking models after all. Codex is a must to see nice pictures and read some stories. The last recommendation is buying her a novel about Space Wolf. I was really pumped up after reading some awesome novel. I haven't read many Space Wolf book, but the Novel "The Emperor's Gift" by Aaron Dembski-Bowden was really really good. Eventhough, the main Character was Grey Knights, but almost half the story was about Space Wolfs.
