in terms of pure power..... universes like Dr. Who crush the stuff in warhammer 40k..the things the time lords can do, being multidimensional, TARDIS etc.....

i guess what im trying to say why doesn't GW start creating fluff of super powered muldiverse weapons, power etc...to rival some of the more powerful fictional universes

I think the UN might step in if fictional settings start an arms race. I think it is best left alone.

Doctor Who 'warfare' between high-level species is a dreadfully over-the-top and sudden affair.

It is not suited for a direct confrontation with any narrative as a result.

I do! I have often thought the Iliad was completely lame due to its lack of atomic weaponry.

Because they don't care because they have no argument with those universes whatsoever?

Space Wolves: 3770
Orks: 3000
Chaos Daemons: 1750
Warriors of Chaos: 2000

But fiction just does not work that way you have to let each piece of fiction be its own thing. It would be like arguing that that the Lord of the Rings is not a believable story because Mordor is not adequately protected against X-Wing attacks to be a real threat.

Different fictions will have different "hooks." It is best to enjoy Dr. Who for what makes Dr. Who great and enjoy 40K for what makes 40K great.

Nobody cares. And while Doctor Who is fun, it at times (a lot) can suffer from worse writing than W40k, with the Doctor literally being an invincible god that the universe will bend over backwards to protect or else the whole multiverse will collapse with his destruction. Plus Doctor Who is literally among the most powerful fictions in fiction, with the Time Lords only be overshadowed by a handful of characters in Marvel and Azathoth from Lovecraft's mythos. Oherwise they're more or less top dog on the power scale, what with universe and multiverse busting weapons.

But remember. The absolute worst writer thinks of yields first and the story second.

And again, please, stop making these incredibly stupid threads. They contribute nothing and don't help people's opinion of you with these things popping up all the time. And no, thankfully, W40K at least has SOME serious bit to it among all the sarcasm and humor so we don't end up with incredibly stupid universe busting handguns, which just are completely stupid. Necron tech is cool and all, but it best stay strange alien tech from a civilization eons ahead of humanity and not become the standard.

This thread seems somewhat pointless.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
