I just finished painting a Dakka Jet and was wondering what I could do if anything to improve it

Colors make sense with the haphazardly construction jobs orks tend to do, since they probably salvaged everything from downed vehicles anyway.

My issue, i see almost no wear for this idea. Adding rust or paint chipping will improve it dramatically, especially points like the wing flaps, elevators, rudders, and ailerons since they move the most. Right now, its too clean for an ork lol

EDIT: I would suggest paint chipping though, adding rust is usually a pre-paint technique. really dont know how you would paint rust without prepping it before you finished painting.

Add rust by either, rust colour weathering powder, forge world do some good weathering powders. Or by using an old piece of foam and dabbing tiny amounts of dark brown or dark orange or any other rust coloured paint to create some rusted paint chips.

I do all of my weathering after painting, similar to the stage your at now.

The new(ish) citadel special effect paint do a nice rust if you combine typhus corrosion, with ryza rust.
Typhus corrosion is almost a wash, but contains a fine grit, it dries a muted brown/black colour like tarnished metal.

Then drybrush the corroded areas with the orange ryza rust dry paint, nice contrast of brown to orange with the added texture gives a pleasing effect.
Highlight the edges silver where it mightve worn through the rust back to clean metal.

Thanks for the feedback I will try the paint chipping and rust. Can you give some good techniques about how to do the paint chipping?

Practice on some random bit because it takes a bit of work.

Usually i dry brush raw steel on the edges so it covers it with bare metal but not "completely" covering it. If i want any totally bare spots i just go back with a normal brush. Adding unusual brown, flesh colors, or turquoise green to parts you have painted bare metal will add a corroded effect.

Some people use a watered down brush and just literally paint the cracks. I have yet to figure out the consistency needed for this, nor the dexterity lol. My way may not look like the pros, but it looks pretty good anyway.
