Pics of my Stug III. It is all hand painted since I don't own an airbrush. The weathering is secret weapons' clay brown pigment applied over GW stirland mud. C&C most welcome.

Looks good. The weathering technique is something I might steal at some point, it really looks like proper dried mud.

My only constructive criticism is that the tank looks too clean on the upper parts of the hull. There should be at least a little dust in the crevices and on the extra roadwheels. The weathering goes from "newly washed" to "been in the field for days" immediately.

Thanks! Constructive critisism is always welcome,

This is actually the first time I've used weathering pigments.

The model was washed in brown before any weathering was applied and at that point looked quite drab. When I weathered the vehicle the last thing I did was to quickly dry brush the entire model with left over pigment - something I doubt shows up very well in the photos.

I've recently placed an order for a Panzer V (better known as the Panther) and I will definately be more careful during the weathering process with the big cat.

Did you seal the model? I recently started using the same pigments as you and between the pigment fixer, varnish, and dull cote, the effect is very diluted. Your vehicle looks awesome, which is why I'm curious if you sealed and if so, how you did it. Looks real good.

Wow what a good job with that dried mud very realistic. Good job on that camo too, looks authentic. I love stugs I think, they look mean. Is this 15 or 28mm scale?

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

jedi76: It is a 28 mm model from Warlord games - check them out.

creeping-deth87: Well I did not really seal it per se, but rather the textured paint I used gave the powder something to hang on to aswell as adding an interesting texture to help break up the flat surfaces. The last thing I did was to dullcoat the model (Army Painter - anti shine spray) because I absolutely HATE shiny models. Maybe the dullcoat did seal it because the weathering powder stays put even if I touch the weathered areas. I doubt it will survive rough handling though.
