im working on my renegade guard/dark mechanicus and would like to find something to replqace the standard leman russ.
im looking for something more in line with a walker or creature of some sort. im not worried about counts as so long as the size is right.
i was considering the forgeworld decimator but its just too expensive.

any ideas?

i'm also looking for something to use as heavy weapons carriers in the infantry squads, something like a servitor. i thought that a thallax might be cool but again the prices is prohibitive. im using the DV cultist as my troops and really dislike the shirtless guy with the knife.... bleh... i was thinking about using him as a conversion and mounting him on some sort of tread device but im having trouble finding something that im sure will scale right. if any of you have a known good tread setup that will look good please let me know.

The Decimator isn't that expensive in my eyes, althoug the weapons do ad up...
Scratch build them....
A beefed up Sentinel could do the job for me. Or maybe a Defiler or Forgefiend...
Costwise they are not cheaper, but I think they got the sort of look you are going for....

Otherwise find an other producer of mini's and look throug their product lines.

For the weapons carriers I'd look at these.... Great work by Clang.

Try a toy store, WWI/WWII model tanks at a 1/48 scale look great but will take some fiddling to get the size right.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

For the heavy weapons, PDC Gaming might work. They have little tracked heavy gun carriers. Currently about $15 each, so still may be too expensive for you.

You might want to check out the Robogear line of toys. Plenty of walker types and they are nominally 1/48th scale, but very chunky, so they match up with 40k models nicely.

Also check out Dust Tactics tanks. All of their tanks are walkers.
