Saw it somewhere on here and have been meaning to expand upon it. I want to run this @ 1850 just for the 4+ re-rollable sieze shinanigans. Here is what im thinking.

Primary detachment: Eldar
HQ
Farseer- jetbike, mantle- 155 pts

TROOPS
4x5 Dire Avengers- wave serpent, scatter lasers, holofields- 800 pts

2x3 Windrider Jetbikes- 102 pts

HEAVY SUPPORT
Wraithknight- 240 pts

Allied detachment: Dark Eldar
HQ
Vect- 240 pts

TROOPS
5 Warriors- Raider, dark lance- 105 pts

Inquisition Detachment
HQ
Coteaz- 100pts
Inquisitor- 3 servo skulls- 34 pts

ELITES
Henchmen- 3 Acolytes- rhino- 52 pts

TOTAL
1828

Vect rides with the Warriors in the Raider. Coteaz and the basic Inquisitor ride with the Henchmen in the Rhino. Servo skulls to limit scout + infiltrate. Thinking about dropping something to take an Autarch and upgrade the Inquisitor to take the reserve roll power in order to get that sweet +2/-2 to reserve rolls.Or maybe even put the Coteaz crew in a flyer instead? Basic Idea is a mobile gunline. 4 wave serpents should give me decent ainti troop/light AV dakka, while the wraithknight and raider can crack tough nuts. Vect, Coteaz, and the Knight can also be used as counter chragers. How do you think this strategy will work? For reference, my meta is not very competetive, and im not trying to take this to tournies. Just looking to see if i can run this at the FLGS and not get stompped every game. I have a few points left to work with here and any advice would be great!

Your list is pretty competitive, totally minmaxed, so if your meta is casual you might be the one stomping other lists.

For your henchmen, take a razorback or bolter chimera with psybolt ammo. You have points spare and you gain a LOT of shooting power.

Night shields/flickerfields are good on the raider. Then dump spare points in your inquisitor.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

I am probably being dopey here, but I thought you could only take an inquisitorial detachment with an Imperial army? No?

It might be worth dropping one of your Wave Serpents in exchange for a Crimson Hunter and upgrading to a Psymera that way you are keeping most of your firepower from the Psymera but gain a powerful AA tool which you would otherwise struggle to deal with things like a storm raven. You arguably have scoring covered adequately by the jetbikes so you aren't losing much on that front. Those extra points should go into giving Vect a few more bodies to benefit from PE and maybe give them a blaster. Alternatively you could swap the warriors out for Wyches with Haywires, giving you a good counter charge unit that can protect Vect and let him do the chopping against MeQ's and would help Vect Wreck that landraider via Haywire.

@Kholzerino. No

I also think you need to do something with the retinue. If you are insisting on keeping them (are they required with the second Inq?) you need to give them some punch.

If they are not required a ranger or jetbike squad is way stronger.

Remember that Coteaz is unable to buff elves so you will be taking telepathy and hoping for aggression with him. He is unfortunately nowhere as useful in that role.

Maybe replace a DA squad with a large guardian squad. For eldar that doesn't prevent buying the transport so your WS number stays constant but you get a large force to hide vect and the seer. That would let you replace the raider with a venom and give you some safety for your characters and dramatically increase your shooting and it gives Coteaz something to hide behind.

As to antiaircraft, wave serpents do that job pretty well

How well does vect do in CC as compared to the baron?

You could just take the baron in some warlocks on bikesfor a 2+ cover save (stealth and shrouded).

All I see is list offering up a kill points buffet of 2 for the price of 1.

1. A raider is a delivery system not a vehicle. It's so flimsy it's only goal it to jet across the table turn 1, and then unleash some slap happy mad men on your opponent.

2. Other than the re-roll for seizing the initiative you basically wasting a chunk of points for the 50% of the games when you won't win the roll to go first. Oh what a tangle web we weave when first we practice to deceive.

3. Wave serpents are hard to kill, annoyingly so and always have been. They are not a army substitute. 5 Dire avengers minus what dies when the wave serpent explodes aren't going to achieve much.
Plus for objective denial you have to play dangerously close since you cannot flat out and tank shock onto an objective.

4. You have 19 kill points on the table. And aside from the wave serpents the rest are easily dealt with.

5. No synergy. You have a big slow monster, a killed DE character with no support, and a bunch of skimmers to hopefully hop onto an objective IF they survive until the end of the game, and IF the game even ends when you hope it does.

IE tank shock onto the object. Roll, and the game goes on. They assault, and that is that.

This might do okay if you dice luck holds out against some armies. Against many armies at this points level it's going to get hammered hard.

My advice...
Drop the inquisition like it's hot. You've got 50/50 to go first anyway, and a 50% chance of seizing just with the Baron. Now that is only important IF your army is setup to deliver a lethal first strike. IE if I were running a all raider based Wych army I would have Coteaz for that 4+ seize plus re-roll because going first is a huge boost. If I'm flying around in the hardest to kill transports in the game going first isn't something to dump 500pts into in hopes the gimmick works.

For the points you could add full dire avenger squads, more bikes, just a ton of stuff.

Next I see little in the way of dealing with heavy armor. Either infantry or vehicle heavy armor. IE this list is likely to run into a brick wall. The Eldar are magical in having the right tool for everything. So why limit your toolbox to dire avengers, and transports?
