Hey Dakka, I need your help

How would you do to achieve this metal effect on this picture here?

Dipping With Wood Stain

Welwyn Garden City, Herts

Looks like a black basecoat then drybrushed bronze with possibly a light gold drybrush for the extra highlights, maybe a black or brown wash to tone down any over highlighting and finally the new GW verdigris technical paint applied to some recesses.

Simple as that? I thought it was more to the "base" metal, before the gold highlight.

Also the picture is from before the new GW technicals, so I'm guessing just some watered down blue colors maybe?

Possibly a black brown wash over the base to add a little depth, but it doesn't look like much tbh. Also on the verdigris, vallejo have been doing a similar effect for years (I have an unused pot sitting in my paint store lol) so it could be another firm's.

It does look like a pretty simple job, but no less effective for that - I wish most of my stuff could work like that

It looks like they drybrushed runelord brass over rhinox hide.

That is a beautiful paint job. I to am interested in how this effect is achieved. That type of antiquing is hard to pull off.
