Okay! So over the holidays I picked up a Necron Battleforce, a box of Lychguard, and a Catacomb Command Barge. So that leaves me with a few options..

Necron Lord : Wargear may vary. A Warscythe is mandatory.
Ten Warriors
Ten Warriors in a Ghost Ark (Because I feel a Doomsday Ark at the points I'll have.. 700-1000, might be a bit silly).
Five Immortals packing Tesla Carbines.
Three bases worth of Scarabs.

Now here comes the part I'd truly appreciate some feedback on.
Lychguard or Praetorians?
I enjoy the idea of Lychguard, you can't sniff at a 4+ invulnerable save. But a powersword kind of kills it for me. That and the fact they're slow.
I hate to say I love the idea of Praetorians, short(understatement) range AP2 shot, but jump infantry packing power axes. Or weapons with entropic strike, making them hilarious vehicle hunters.

Part two of my difficulties :
Catacomb Command Barge or Annihilation Barge?
Yes, I do need some heavy firepower, but I'd like to eventually build a very mobile Necron army. With the CCB, I could have a Lord with a Warscythe able to hunt alongside the Praetorians.
At the same time, an Annihilation Barge has some respectable dakka.

If this helps to make the decision, I eventually plan to fill in my Fast Attack slots with Tomb Blades (Because I love the models) and Wraiths (Because they kick ass).

Criticisms? Alternatives? I'm open to ideas. Also no Scythes if I can help it.

Well, until your last line, I would have said unit of 10 Warriors put with a Lord (RO, WS, SW) in a Scythe, as one of those appearing, dropping in at rapid fire range kills things quickly. I usually run two of these.

as for Lychguard vs Praetorians. I run a 5-man shieldguard unit with my Warlord quite often. they may be slow, but I have yet to loose the whole unit. Last game I used the blob in they accounted for a Flyrant, a Tervigon & a Trygon, and they have wiped more than double their points off the board in many games (youtube batrep of one in spoiler)

as for Praetorians, I find they work quite well when paired with a DLord (SW/RO). Assuming the Rods, you then have a very fast unit that hits as hard as wraiths, with only a little less survivability (3++ vs 4+++ & +1T).

so it would come down to preference. I think the DLord + Praetorians work better for your idea of MobileCrons.

And Annihilation Barge every time. that one isn't even a challenge. you can get two of them for the same price as a barebones SurfLord, and they are a lot more useful in a mobile list (move full 12", you then have to snapshot. Snapshots are 6s. oh, and re-roll all the failures. Cue tesla shenanigans)
