Here is my question, Lets say that the BLUE tank is flush with the building and RED tank cannot see the Front Armor, but RED tank can see the whole Side of BLUE's armor.

Is it even possible to shoot BLUE with RED or not? If so what armor facing is used?

Got into a heated discussion about this last game I played.

Just realized that I wrote that question like it was a school question lol.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

It's stupid, but front armor rating is used.

If you wanted to compromise, you could roll a d6 and 1-3 its turret front armor and 4-6 it's hull side armor

I wouldn't say it's stupid as much as it's an abstraction. Keep in mind the front of the blue tank's turret is facing the red tank as well.

But yes, in any case, it is a shot to the front armor.

The key thing that FOW does well, is that idea of angled armour. E.g only by hitting perpendicular to side armour or behind the Front armour will you get the lower value.

Otherwise as per your diagram, you hitting side armour at an Oblique angle.

If you were perpendicular or further round, you would be behind the line across the front of the vehicle.

It's very clear cut, and actually makes the game much better. It means Fast Tanks, are a real threat to even the heaviest tanks.

Straight up head on Tank Brawls are rarely decisive, but when you hit a flank you can steam roll a 4 tank platoon in a single round of shooting .

All right that makes sense, I think we inevitably ended up rolling to see who was right. Thanks guys for the more insight answer to my question!

Enemy teams don't block LOS so you can target BLUE's mate who's sat behind him. As a bonus BLUE's mate isn't in cover. If you hit twice (or more) you'll hit both of them on their front armour.

Yep, it's front armor because of angling being accounted for.

You aren't hitting his front armor directly, but you may be hitting the front of his turret, or the side armor is angled enough that it has an armor equivalent of the front.
