I find myself with a gift certificate to my local shop and have decided that I should use a portion of it to update my armies. They have stagnated a bit and I think some new shiney would encourage me to play them more. So I have a few questions in search of answers.

The Galleon. Any good? I'm on the fence as to its looks, but am curious to how it handles on the table. Any particular caster it works well with?

Raek and bog trogs. I've avoided bog trogs to date, but I might pick some up if Raek is any good. Same with Witchdoctors. I'm thinking at least one, just to have with the undead croc caster.

Typically I run Ashlyn or Fiona with my Mercs and typically Bloody B with my Crocs.

The local Mercs player loves his Galleon. He runs Bart with him and has enjoyed it quite a bit!

Fiona is also fun with a Galleon. Cast Nonokrian brand on it and make people cry.

Yeah, I've thought of that. I guess I'm too old school and have been cringing at the price tag of the thing. I can basically get that, or about every other Minon model my Blackwater is lacking.

Nothing wrong with wanting the most for your money. Those colossal models come with a colossal price tag!

The Galleon is great easily one of the top three colossals imho.

Rask is an amazing caster, Admonition and Fury are awesome, Inhospitable Ground can be situationally useful, and his feat effectively gives his army Super Stealth. I've lost so many Heavies to him because he popped his feat right when they get into charge range and suddenly my SPD4/5 Heavies that are 7/8" away can't get to his models that turn.

Though I'm not 100% sold on Bog Trogs, if you can wait a bit Bokur Shamblers are coming out soon and he's basically pAlexia for Hordes and he comes with 21 grunts instead of just 13.

If you're playing Blindwater I've got to ask, how many Gatormen Posse do you have? You know they're FA3 in Blindwater right? If you're playing Rask you should be running at least two units of them and in a lot of cases three units.

Right now I have two full units of gators.
