I've invested in some clear acrylic bases for my Tau, and I was wondering if anyone knew what the effects of varnishing them would be? Are they likely to turn cloudy, because if so, I'll base them after spraying the models. I'm using vallejo matte and gloss rattle cans if that makes a difference.

Unlikely to go 'cloudy', but they would go dull and slightly opaque from the matte varnish at least.

I've only used clear acrylic to base one thing, and the advice I got was always to base on clear acrylic after varnishing the figure as it just won't look as clear and unobtrusive with the varnish.

I'll do that then. Thanks.
