The thought behind bringing the duke is that the venoms can deepstrike. the only thing is he also benefits wytches (power from pain, combat drug re-roll), so do I bring wytches in place of some of the kabalite warriors? another thought was getting rid of the wraithguard upgrades and warp spiders and bringing another wraithknight. Thoughts?

The Twilight Zone

You can't take 3 kabbie squads for allies, max 2 troops.

On the farseer, both runes are major overkill. You already deny all but a few psykers on a 4+, why bother with runes of warding? Witnessing is OK since you are casting a lot of powers. Take a singing spear with spare points for a rouge AT unit.

Wraithguard are fantastic, but if you take a spiritseer you get scoring units out of em. Plus, spiritseers are amazing. Consider one unit of scythes, one unit of d-cannons. Make sure you take scatter lasers on the serpents.

In a squad of 6, it is worth having shuricannons on the bikes so they can do more than score.

If your taking the exarch on the spiders, take fast shot, and maybe spring for the rifle. You could equally drop the exarch.

For a suncannon knight, take a scatter laser to twin link the cannon. Also gives you a second gun for more dakka.

The duke is OK for deep strike, but he has no unit to join. If you want the deep strike, splinter trueborn are your best bet. I would go cheap with a hamey, or maybe the baron+beastpack. Venoms NEED dual splinter cannons, and kabbies could really use a blaster. Haywitches are ok too, if your into them. I almost always take night shields on venoms if I have the points.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

It's good base list, maybe lacking long range anti-tank but I guess wraithguard make up for it short range. Just a few things, you cannot have a unit of 4 warp spiders because you buy them as a squad of 5. But it's quite a quick swap between the Exarch with gear for an extra spider.

Another thing is that you aren't really taking advantage of all of the Dukes abilities, which is understandably hard with all of them, but there are a few more things you can do to get more from your Duke. For example the unit he is with gets better splinter weaponary, then why isn't his unit as pimped out with the stuff as humanly possible? Those trueborn should get themselves 2 splinter cannons at the least. You don't need wyches really, but if you are planning on offensively deep striking them rather then simply to grab objectives then haywire wyches might be a good option to help with hard AT.

Defo not enough anti tank. I'd drop the trueborn for a ravager and probably drop sliscus as he is only really useful in a trueborn raider deep striking.

Waveserpents should have scatter lasers, shuiken cannons, and holofeilds 100% of the time imo.

some people dont like the shruiken cannon, because they want to unload there guys so they move 12 inches, which would then make the shuiken cannon have to snap shot. But, after that, the waveserpent will be putting out an extra 3 tl shots a turn, for only a 10 point upgrade!

Unfortunately it's only 1 shurikan cannon per 3 jetbikes, you can't have a squad of 5 with 3 of the things! But don't despair, while adding up your army you seem to be a few points under pointed (only coming to 1956pts) so you can drop a cannon and get another Jetbike guy and still keep two cannons for a very shooty unit.

Those scatter lasers on that Wraithknight are literally pointless because as a MC he can only fire 2 weapons. Unless you intend on only firing 1 wraith cannon (No, you DON'T intend this) and 1 scatter laser you are wasting 40pts. Those 40pts could give those Wave Serpents Holofields. Done. Now you have a great army. In the end it woud look something like this:

so after looking over my list I realized that 5 warp spiders aren't going to be very survivable and was questioning wether the wraithguard would have the same problem.

If I take 2 units of 10 guardians instead of the 2 wraithguard units and keep them in the wave serpent I think they'd be more survivable and cost less points.

it would allow me to add either 2 fire prisms or take 10 warp spiders.

is this a good idea? thoughts?

If you do this, then the Spiritseer is also unnecesary. You could even buy a brightlance for your guardians for some long-range AT or Shuriken cannons/Starcannon for added synergy with your shuricats.

If you take Wraithknight stock, you don't really need those Prisms. Take the Nightspinners for cheaper or add those Warp Spiders you talked about.

That said, Wraithguard are T6 so a LOT more survivable than Warp Spiders or Guardians. Also, they're Fearless so can't go-to-ground but also don't take morale checks. Just something to keep in mind.

gah! Such a tough choice. I LOVE the look of the wraithguard theyre just so damn expensive!

I feel like even massed wounds would take them out. there's only 5... but what do I know
