In the dataslate for Cypher's "Fallen Champions" formation, the Options and Restrictions section of the formation states "Units of Chosen from this formation may not take Chaos Rewards...".

The Chaos Rewards section of Codex: Chaos Space Marines includes Gift of Mutation in the Chaos Rewards section.

The entry for the Chosen in the Dataslate then states: "The Chosen Champion may take Gift of Mutation for +10 pts".

With this contradiction, what takes precedence?

Rokugnar Eldar (6500) - Wolves of Excess (2000) - Marines Diagnostica (2200)

My guess is that the specific allowance for gift of mutation overrides the general restriction on gifts.

You mean the specific restriction of Cypher's Chosen vs the general allowance of codex Chosen to take Chaos Gifts...I thought so.

No, no gifts on Chosen in Cypher's formation.

Incorrect; the formation includes specific allowance to take gifts. No reference to the codex at all.

Huh, that's what I get for not fully reading the OP and posting at 4am. I am incorrect, the formation limits the gifts that can be taken on the Chosen to a single choice.

Thanks for fixing the interwebz, Nos!
