I've been playing Orks since just after 6th ed came out (lucky me, I didn't have to learn new rules twice ), and I think I've finally found the list that is going to be my go to in tournaments. So far I'm 5-1-2 with this bad boy. I took this at my FLGS's WARCON hosting and took second (final battle is the only one I've lost). So, here goes:

HQ:
Big Mek ('Eavy Armor, Cybork, KFF) 100 pts
Warboss (Armor, Cybork, Attack Squig, PK, BP) 120 pts

Troops:
18 'ard S/C boys + 1 Nob (PK, BP, Armor) 225 pts
18 shoota boys + 1 Nob (PK, BP, Armor) 154 pts
11 S/C boys + 1 Nob (PK, BP, Armor) in a trukk (big shoota, Ram, RPJ) 162 pts
11 S/C boys + 1 Nob (PK, BP, Armor) in a trukk (big shoota, Ram, RPJ) 162 pts
11 S/C boys + 1 Nob (PK, BP, Armor) in a trukk (big shoota, Ram, RPJ) 162 pts
11 S/C boys + 1 Nob (PK, BP, Armor) in a trukk (big shoota, Ram, RPJ) 162 pts

Fast Attack:
Dakkajet w/ additional supashoota 120 pts
Dakkajet w/ additional supashoota 120 pts
Dakkajet w/ additional supashoota 120 pts

Heavy Support:
Battlewagon (Deff Rolla, Big shoota, RPJ) 120 pts
Battlewagon (Deff Rolla, Big shoota, RPJ) 120 pts

Total: 1847

As you may have guessed, I put the Warboss with the 'Ard boys in one wagon and the shootas with the KFF in the other, making the KFF my warlord (because I fully expect my Warboss to get killed at some point). Now, this is the key point here, so read carefully: Unless you're playing a gunline, forget about First Blood and let your opponent go first! They will foolishly move forward, take out a trukk, and then be easily within charge distance with your 13" movement. Unload as many boys as you can and get them KRUMPIN'! Second turn, call in the air strikes to take out the long rangers hiding in back and BAM, you've got the game in a strangle hold.

Let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions for how to better equip this army! Thanks, and happy wargaming!

I really like this list. I'm (re)building my Orks for 6th edition and I was going for something similar, although your army is much more competitive/focused. This has given me some great ideas, so thanks for the inspiration!

The only thing that I would change is the RPJs. Back when it was super cheap I had it on every single vehicle I could put it on, but nowadays I don't think it's worth the points. I personally never have any trouble getting stuck in with my trukks without it, but I know some bosses swear by it. If you knocked off the RPJs you could make all those dakkajets flybosses, which feels to me like a better investment.

I feel what you're saying there. When I started playing, RPJ sounded so cool, but the lists I was taking then never ended up using it. With this one, however, unless I forget that I put it on, I use that extra inch every time I can, and it's paid for itself more than once. Missing a charge by an inch is so frustrating, but just making it to the flame storm tank and breaking it before it can cook my boys is incredibly satisfying. I've also used it to grant me line breaker.
If I were to remove something to scrounge more points, though, the RPJs would be the first to go. I tend to play my boys very aggressively, so any help getting across the board is a plus.
I thank you for your feedback and hope that your WAAAGH! is just as awesome as it can be.

I also thought about running 3 Dakkajets. But being as they are not super reliable I stuck with the more lootas school of thought. But I am glad to see I am not the only person who enjoys using 'ard boyz.

When I look up I think of the great Waaagh! in the sky.

Mhm you better hope for first turn with this list... not sure if you mett up against comp lists.. or just cassual lists when playing this. A tau fireline or Eldar trickery can be the end of this pretty quickly.

This is why I stated "unless you're playing a gunline," because a good one will for sure spell the end of a trukk list very quickly. Given, though, that the Orks are one of the hardest armies to play competitively with anymore, I'll take the chances of coming up against a gunline and getting massacred to also have the chance to beat the pants off of Marines and Daemons.
The one time I did play Tau with this list, we ended in a 10-10 draw. The only reason that was possible was line breaker, warlord, and my dakkajets killing everything they could reach before getting shot down.

Don't get me wrong, I love my lootas, but I put them on hold for now because I got tired of drop pods with flamers (or one of the plenty of other weapons that ignore cover) slamming in and taking the whole squad off the board all at once. An ADL doesn't do crap when you're on fire. So I bring jets. Despite the one lower strength, the jets are still incredible (more so, IMHO) at taking out infantry. Still need 2s to wound, same AP, always the same amount of shots, MUCH better hit ratio. Also, this has little to do with the actual game, but the jets give me a real reason to call the WAAAGH!, because I love shouting at the top of my lungs at my FLGS.
Hopefully the lootas will make a full comeback soon, but for now, the jets have it.

I have played my Ork in a Similar fashion since the end of 3rd. The BW's make great Screens for the Trukks. AV14 is obviously harded to punch through than AV10. I've never used Dakka jets so I can't comment. The Warboss though seems a bit flimsy. I'd either drop him entirly or stick.him on a Bike or give him Mega Armour. If doing either take a Squad of either Nob Bikers or Meganobz. There are just some units out there that will need to be hit by massed PK's to kill and either of those squads will deliever those for you. Lastly try and get those Shoota Squads upto 20 and give them the 2 Big Shootas. If there Wagon goes bang they will have some range and a bit of exter stopping power as they advance accross the board.

Good Luck.
