Hello Fellow Wolves. I am working on several STAR WARS & STAR BLAZERS (YAMATO 2199) Projects and decided to start a little Blog a few months ago. I have published a bit of content that may be interesting and perhaps even informative.

I am working on a FFG STAR WARS X-WING Conversion to play STAR BLAZERS as a tabletop wargame, like the X-Wing game but with 2199 content.I am using all of the new YAMATO 2199 models with some of the best classic models too.
If you have some time to kill and you enjoy these Space Operas, then you are invited.

I will be posting WIP models, rules, and all kinds of related content. If that is cool with you all. I have noticed there are a few people here who like what I care about, so it might be fun for us to hang out sometimes.

I do love pictures, so I hope that it is cool to post a few...take care Wolves!
Thanks for looking.

With SW and BB Yamato in the same place consider me very interested in where this plog goes. I hope to see many interesting things here.

Why thank you very much indeed!

I grew up with STAR WARS & STAR BLAZERS, and now that FFG has kicked some butt with X-WING and BANDAI is doing the same in spades with their all new YAMATO 2199 Range of 1/1000 scale kits, I had to get evolved.

I really like the way X-WING plays, and with the new Epic Rules and Capitol Ships coming, it makes since to do a STAR BLAZERS conversion. These wonderful little models are very game friendly. Most of the models are around six to nine inches long, and that works fine on a 4x4 or 4x6 table I think. I have three 2x4 tables that I can fold and store behind the bathroom door, nice and neat.
This project is going to take a lot of time, but that is a part of the fun, and I am in no rush. I want the YAMATO 2199 cards to look as good as the FFG X-WING products.

I managed to get a little test card mock up done for STAR BLAZERS last month before the holidays hit.

This is nothing great but it kind of shows what I intend to do with the game materials

This is just the start...

Original Yamato was one of the animes of my childhood too.

There are a few X-wing players around that might be dragged into the game My wallet on the other hand...

Cool!

Yeah trust me, I looked all over for decent prices, and the best place to buy these model kits (that I have found) is Hobby Link Japan.

You might want to hit up shasho, he has bought most f those 1/1000 kits and has been showing them on his blog. He might have another route for you to get them.

I'll be watching as I'm thinking of getting into x-wing.

Thanks!

X-WING is a very fast and fun game, which is why I choose to use it's rules for STAR BLAZERS. The battles are just cool, and very dramatic in the series.
If you have not seen YAMATO 2199 I highly recommend it. It is like Saving Private Ryan, with a little bit of Manga Cuteness. It is all good.

Here is my STAR BLAZERS Project introductory article at my Blog. http://blacksixredseven.blogspot.com/2013/12/our-star-blazers.html
if you have not seen the series, this article is a reasonable preview.

I know some people do not take manga seriously, with good reason in most cases, but this is one that we adults can watch I think. There is none of that sex crap, or childish bodily functions humor in the series.

I started my YAMATO 2199 Kits collection this Christmas with The Yamato (of course), Cosmo Nanvy Set 2, and Garmillas Warships set 2.
It will be very fun writing the rules for these ships...

I purchased the Yamato in December, with the UNCN Set 2, from the new 2199 range. That was a decent start, but now I am adding the classic EDF ships to my fleet.
I feel there is no reason not to mix the older ships with the Wave Engine Ships, because Earth had both in the early stages of upgrading the Defense Force.

Is anyone else collecting both types of ships?
