Okay so holiday season is over more or less...I got a Drop Pod, 2 Fenrisian Wolves Packs along with a Dread(Venerable Model).

Now I'm a Wolves Player who loves fluff over the boring Rune Priest spam

But this isn't a rant about that. I proudly and happily field Logan Grimnar. I have 3 packs of Grey Hunters(Sorry Blood Claws...maybe someday) along with TWC, a Vindicator, Wolf Guard Termis, Wolf Scouts along with 2 Long Fangs Squads and an Aegis and Rhino. Or and Arjac because Arjac is awesome and is a badass and is awesome again

Now then...I usually play 1500pts-2000pts. I do prefer 2000pts. Haven't tried anything higher...Would love to! Just haven't yet

I'm not really used to a Drop Pod...Tried it out here and there thanks to one of the guys at the store lending me one when I feel like filling in some points. I feel like I don't put the right unit in there...Or that maybe I should be using it differently...again I'm posting this for help on it. Also tips on making building that accursed thing would be a blessing form Odin himself! I HATED building that thing because of the interior. All else was okay! Just making the harness was the hell!

Fenrisian Wolves, while I've seen people online bash them(which I never really like seeing. Everything is amazing! Just gotta know how to use it right? That's how I see it at least...) for their lack of a save and LD. But they are cheap and cool and well...no pun intended...fluffy. Now I would have loved to have 15 of them...but money is kinda a thing <.< So I'm working with 10 for now. if there are any brother Wolf Lords out there who have plenty of experince with them...or someone who has been on the receiving end of a Fenrisian Wolf mauling...then hey advice and tacts!

Lastly there's the Dread. Never used one. Have fought against one once. I'm not really sure how I feel about them. Again as of 6th Edition I've seen a good bit of bashing on them...On top of saying to leave them home("cause they're drunk" if you wanna pun/joke in there) because they'll just be a waste of points. But hey I don't really care about being competitive. So any advice from those who have used them, be you a brother Astates or a brother wolf or even a Heritic or Xeno with experince against them would be welcomed. I just want to make sure I do the honored warrior sealed within justice.

Pods are best used when your whole army is in them (At least for Vanilla marines and every remotely competitive Wolves list). This allows your opponent to shoot at nobody first turn.

i agree wholeheartedly. almost nothing is useless if played right. (Example: mark of slenesh on an oblierator)

With dreads dont invest to many points as no mater what when the come under fire they die quickly. 2 options i see with what you have is a back field gun platform. or take your one drop pod. tke the assault cannon and cause havoc with a back door shooting spree. heavy flamer if you can pull it off helps.

i do have to agree that a single drop pod wont help much. Either it will die quick cause it will have little support or it will be a huge point sink with very tough squad. Wolf guard with SS shields and arjac.

as for wolf pack. i have never played or seen played but i would imagine if you can keep em out of fire that would make a good second wave assault unit

happy hunting

I run 3 full wolf packs with Canis along for fun with another three Thunderwolf packs - hog the cover and move fast is all I can say - they are fluffy but can't take being shot at, though when they hit they hit well especially with Canis. Use them ahead of the Thunderwolf cavalry, it helps get the cavalry into play

This may be a sound tactic with Fen Wolves. Understand that they are not slowed by difficult terrain, and can utilize good cover saves regularly to offset the 6+ armor save. Suck it up an realize they will run off the board on a common basis and get shot to pieces very easily with basic small arms fire.

Using 10 or 15 Fen Wolves may prove unwieldy or tricky to move with finesse. I try to use 2-3 smaller packs of 5 lead by a Cyberwolf. By finesse I mean, moving your wolves:

1. In a position to gain Linebreaker.
2. Make 5+ cover saves for your Rhinos & Tanks
3. Spread out in the open to make anti-Deep Strike zones.
4. Utilize cover saves
5. Remember to assault things like Rhinos, Landspeeders and rear AV 10.
