There is not enough demonstration of the actual technique you are using (i.e. how you hold and move a brush, mixing, how you apply the paint) in this tutorial imo. Pictures are good but sufficient detail needs to be added!

The very reason for reading this tutorial is the chipping medium.....and that is the one step you completely and utterly fail to describe in any adequate way.

Hey,
Thanks for your feedback. I've done some corrections in the text.

First of all, this tutorial is for ADVANCED painters, it means for someone who knows how to use an airbrush. If it's still not very clear I will reflect on it one more time and I'll try to add some extra text about that. But the most important is:
a) I do not mix colors, it's not necessary.
b) When I was putting the next layer of different color I was using a, hmm, hard piece of cardboard to protect this place which shouldn't be painted.

About technique with chipping medium. Hmm, that part is for me maybe too simple. What excatly should I describe more? It's really simple:
a) Wet the surface which will be scratched
b) Wet the scratcher too
c) just scratch the surface
d) If the paint sticks too hard -> more water or try with dry scratcher but be careful

I don't bother with these pansy techniques. If I need chipping done I rig up my models in front of the woodchipper and let the good times roll.

The models turned out pretty nicely, for starters and as far as a painting tutorial goes, it's not bad.

Your description and detail on how to fully use the chipping medium is lacking though. The chipping itself seems unfinished and flat which is a shame because the rest of the model is nicely painted.

Is it a decent tutorial on painting imperial fist dreads? I would say so. Is it a good tutorial on weathering said dreads? Not so much.
