I am looking down the barrel of many tanks and a storm raven, and I'm thinking this might be a good time to get some red primer.

My blood angels recipe is: Black Primer, Mephiston Red, Blood Red and a wash (paynes grey/glaze medium, thinner and water).

Is the GW Mephiston Red true to the pot color, or is Army Painter Dragon Red a better fit?

TIA

I would look at a red oxide car primer instead as a solid base for the red.
Don't know much about the new GW colours or army painter range though - sorry.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Duplicolor Red primer is what I use for my BA army. I swear by this and produces great results!

So that's effectively a mephiston red base coat?

Not sure, I haven't bought any of the new GW paints but it's a deeper darker red.
