Hello Dakka,
I am currently a SW player and im looking into starting some IG allies. How do you think I should kit out my big IG blob?
Is it best to just take as many autocannons as you can? Or Lascannons?
Should I take melta bombs? Power weapons?
Basically I need to make this into a competitive blob to help protect my side of the table and aegis. Thanks!!

It depends on what you want the blob to do. You can take 3-5 Infantry Squads with an Autocannon and maybe a Flamer (for overwatch) for each, leaving the squad in your deployment zone to sit on an objective.

If you want to be aggressive with your blob and take objectives with it (which is how I like to play), then I would take 4-5 Infantry squads each with a Meltagun and Sergeant with Meltabombs and a Power Axe. You also need a Commissar in this unit or a SW character with ATSKNF. A Rune Priest with Prescience is the PERFECT fit for this role, as Prescience also affects CC.
