After comparing the heavy weapon loadouts of a DW squad with the options of a tactical squad, the plasma cannon stands out as the only one which is able to be taken by both.

It seems a shame that a terminator can take a beefed up heavy bolter (assault cannon) or missile launcher (CML), but gets stuck with the same old plasma cannon used by normal marines. I'd like to propose a fluffy addition to the DA armoury.

The weapon would resemble 2 shoulder mounted plasma guns/cannons, with a built in power cell on the back of the model.

Tactical Plasma Battery
Range 36 Ap 2 Heavy 2 Blast*, Gets hot

Range 24 Ap 2 Rapid fire 2*, Gets hot

*Mode of fire must be declared before shooting, Weapon my be fired in addition to storm bolter.

So the weapon would have 2 different methods of fire, either acting as 2 plasma cannons or 2 plasmaguns. This will give it something to do vs flyers and on overwatch.
Like a CML the storm bolter may be fired as well.
The weapon would cost 25-30 points.

Fluff: Something about DA having access to a lot of the old plasma weaponry (something which there should have been more of in the new dex), and the fact that terminator armour is the only way to use the weapon in relative safety, due to the temperamental cooling systems (represented in game by the number of dice you will be rolling for it).

Any thoughts?
