hi guys. I am wanting to learn more about terrain making and was wondering if anyone has used the woodland scenics learning kits? they seem to make a great scenery piece or full battle board.

Have you tried contacting the owner of this site:
http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/
or even the manufacturer:
http://woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/
However at £14.50 I would guess that you're looking at maybe a base of about A4 maybe smaller...

The manufacturer's site has a few videos - they might help too.

thanks for the answers guys. what I would like to ultimately do is make a proper textured terrain in 2'x2' squares to mold up for myself and friends. much like the realm of battle boards GW make. I already have rock molds but would love a cracked mud effect to go with it.

Try B&Q for the crackle paint.

Lots of companies make crackle paint. Even the cheap Delta Ceramcoat makes some. Used it to make a cracked lava base for miniature.

Woodland Scenic's trees are dope! Quality armatures and good foliage. In my opinion.

Woodland Scenics is the biggest US terrain maker for model railroads. Intended to look good when assembled and never again touched.
They may be too delicate for tabletop games, as they a.o. are not very break or abrasion resistant.

Hi guys. I have some woodland trees. I have given them a thin coat of resin to stiffen them up a bit.
