This is a repaint of a fairy statue that I got from a local gift shop. For those of you following these, I actually got it from a different shop than the other fairies I've painted.

I went for a strong mood with this mini- every color on her has a sea green added to it (this was a mix of Gnarls Green and Meridius Blue). I was rather pleased with how the mini pulled together in the end.

I've posted her up to CoolMini for anyone who cares to vote.

Edit: changed title from Turtle Riding a Fairy to Fairy Riding a Turtle. Hope that helps.

Nice!

Thread title is a bit misleading though. Lol

Evasive maneuvers to gain a 5+ Jink save. It's upside-down.

Yeah, I too was misled by the deceptive title! I saw that and was like "this I GOTTA see..." but alas, no such luck.

Still, great looking mini. I know it might sound nitpicky, but the next time you do a repaint of a statuette, would you be willing to post some before pictures, so we know how extensively you modified it, or which effects are yours, which came with the model, and which are a composite?

Who would have thought? Upon reading the title, I had to see what it really was.

Great color selection. Very subtle shading makes for a fantastic paintjob. Thanks for sharing.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Here's a before picture I got online. On mine, some of the base had a huge hole in it (it didn't show up in the bronze version) so I did a bit of sculpting there.

Beautiful, really. It's not often I see a twee ornament so nicely painted. I will have to go look around the charity shops and see if they have any cheap dragons and fairies. I bet they do!

That's the nicest fairy riding a turtle painted sculpture i've ever seen. Seriously though, it is very well done. Your color palette was well chosen.

I definitely recommend it.

Expect some flaws that you wouldn't get from normal miniatures (sometimes they do some lazy sculpting in areas that aren't the center of interest).

I had to do quite a bit of cleaning and even some pretty big re-sculpting on the seaweeds on her base.
