Me and my gaming group have decided to start off a small escalation league. Were fairly casual players so our rule set is not very restrictive. Each army can pretty much take anything provided they have the points spare.

My starting 500 point list is below. Opponents are (MEQ, IG, Tyranids)


Warlord
Rune Priest (JotWW & LL) – 100

Troops
x10 Grey Hunters (Flamer, Melta) – 150

Troops
x9 Grey Hunters – 135

Heavy Support
x5 Long Fangs (4 Missile Launchers) – 115


I don't feel like I have any surprises though, the list seems fairly predictable.

At this points level I am really tempted to drop the 9 man Grey Hunter squad and Rune Priest for a Wolf Lord. The game plan for most missions is then to hold my home objective and have the Wolf Lord hug cover before pouncing on troops. The Long Fangs can be on armour duty and to soften the Wolf Lords targets.

Thoughts?

When space wolves have hurt me most it has been through the use of drop pods.

Broadly, I prefer the first list. Grey hunters are the best
value unit available to you.

Double plasma on the grey hunters will likely serve you better than melta/flamer/
