I posted a bit about this on the Privateerpress forums, but i think ill keep a blog of my expliots here.

I got a WoldWrath for the hollandaise, and i am super excited about doing some converting on the sucker.

My first instinct was "i have this druid gone wilder model which i got with the intent of someday doing a conversion on the wrath's head. ho-hum"

My second instinct was "danm, this thorax is HUGE + i bet you could drill a recess into it fairly easily + this guy is a lightning generator = if only there was a way to put something in the recess that would generate lightning. BBZZAAPP"

So here i come to the mecca of questioning such things:

1. has anyone tried this before or have intimate understandings of tesla coils?

2. is it folly to even attempt such an endeavor? would i need to ground the model? would it melt the 'white metal'/plastic/paint?

3. i was thinking of having the main device in the torso of the beast, and then placing metal points on the shoulders to arc to. but ive also considered the reverse, as i dont know exactly how electricity will interact with the metal parts of the wrath.

4. ideally i would engineer it to extend the electric field to the range of the wrath's animus (10" from the base in all directions) but again, as this is in the brainstorm stages i dont know how feasible that would be, i would be just as happy having some ligtning jump between the stone shoulders/head/torso.

thanks for the thoughts.

This sounds possible apart from the 10" part, thats crazy (like dangerously crazy unless you are keeping it in a Faraday cage).

I advise you to learn some physics before continuing any further, unless you know what you are doing playing with high voltages it's as fun as bathing with a toaster. I'm not trying to sound harsh and I am not an expert on high voltage AC systems by any means but i can think of more than a few ways this would go wrong.

It may be easier to simulate the effect using pulsating LED's of the right colour, by all means try and go ahead with it, if you pull it off it'll be cool as hell, but learn the science.
