So, I blindly experimented on my cheap miniature and fixed the problem! Here's a step-by-step tutorial to help others correct their own Shuttles.

So that's pretty fething fantastic. Gonna try it with mine.

Because it's just a tab it makes me wonder if it was supposed to be removed and was in fact a problem at the assembly plant that prevented them doing so.

Awesome tutorial. I didn't realize that the Lambda had this problem, but I'm glad I know how to fix it now if I end up getting one.
