hi guys. I got a badger renegade for christmas but it seems to have a problem.

When I go to use it, and press down for just Air, all the paint floods out as well without pulling back. I have never had this problem with the cheap chinese ones so I am at a loss to know what to do.

this is the first time I have used it today.

Ben.

Have you tried loosening the needle chuck and pushing the needle all the way forward to make sure it's closed to begin with?

Try placing the needle further forward.

What they said. If the paint is coming out then the needle isn't seated properly.

I have not used a Chinese clone, but the krome is amazing.

I have also used the renegade velocity, and it is pretty good too (basically a slightly less featured krome).

The sotar is very good as well, but exceptionally picky with paint - I would only suggest it for a very experienced user (who won't get frustrated by its operating requirements).

I got a Chinese clone for Christmas the Veda wd-180 looks a lot like an iwata.
Now having never used any other airbrush I can't really compare it to anything, but I am very happy with the results I've been getting with it.

A lot of people have success with some of the knock-off brushes, especially the ones with larget needle sizes, where the tolerances are not a crucial.

The most common complaint is their consistent quality - while some may be ok, some are not, and this can lead to either a brush not working (at best) or it just not working right (worse - as you might not realize it...).

Its kind of a gamble, but for some folks they are ok with that.
