Yes, I know the new codex is just around the corner, but I just picked up a Trygon/Mawloc and a Tyrannofex/Tervigon kit. I'm wondering if I should build the Tervigon with scything talons or crushing claws? Or could this easily change with the new codex? I'm thinking about holding off on glueing on the toxic sacs and adrenal glands until later. I want to build it! I'm building the Trygon and specifically the Tervigon because I figured I'll probably be building an Exocrine.

This is what I've ordered/pre-ordered:

Hive Tyrant
Haruspex/Exocrine
Harpy/Crone
Carnifex Brood
Swam Box (40 norma, 40 termi, 10 gargs, 1 carnifex, 4 rippers)
Trygon
Tervigon

This seemed like the safest pre order bet, especially since I have no Tyranid models yet (besides the Trygon and Tervigon I just picked up)

Thanks for any help!

Wow you have a lot of hard painting/assembling work ahead of you!

Magnetise your MC. It's not much work for most of the big MC, get a 3mm neodynium magnets pack and a 3.5mm or 4mm hand drill bit.

Hmm I've never magnetized before! Do they look flesh with painting? And do the magnets make the arms wobbly?

You need the correct size of magnets to hold on the part you are magnetising. A 3mm x 2mm magnet pack will happily hold on a crushing claw / scything talon. That size will also do pretty much any turrets/sponsons on tanks. For things like heldrake wings you want something bigger or to use pegs.

You should put them where they won't show. For example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFflA3Sgbik shows you how to go crazy with magnets. Personally I would only put in the ones you can see for the arms and stop there (that's what I have done). As long as the magnets are placed in the ball joints and are drilled in to be flush with the model they will only show when you remove the arms completely.

Magnetising hive tyrant/carnifexes is a must!

Ah ok, I'll look into it, thanks! I wonder if two twin-linked Devourers on a flyrant will still be the best build for a tyrant in the new codex... I hope not, those things are ugly!
