For instance if my Librarian has a power field generator and a combat shield, would this give me a 4++ and 6++ to give me a 3++ or does it only work like this in fantasy.

Doesn't work like that in 40k. Only one invul save.

Eternal Plague

The only time an Invulnerable save gets better is under specific rule allowances, such as Tzeentch Marks improving such saves by 1 in the CSM codex, or the Chaos Daemons codex and the Grimoire of True Names improving saves by 2 (or the Warp Storm table adding or subtracting from Daemon invulnerable saves for that turn).

It doesn't work like that in fantasy, either. In fantasy it is armour then ward OR armour then regen

For 40k see more than one save, in your index
