Confessor Of Sins

Hi all, I've been wondering about this for a while: The Anointed of Asuryan (p50 of The High Elves Codex) has two Special Rules: Witness to Destiny & Blessings of Asuryan. He has Heavy armour.
Witness to destiny: A model with this special rule has a 4+ ward save.
Blessing of Asuryan: All models in a unit that contains an Anointed of Asuryan have a 6+ ward save and the Immune to Psychology special rule.
Does he have a 5+ Armour, followed by the 4+ And the 6+ Ward?
5+; 4+; 6+
Or just 1 Ward? If so, what is the purpose of that Rule for himself and if he joins a unit of Phoenix Guards?

Only one armour save (with modifiers) followed by a ward save if the armour failed. This rule gives him Immune to psychology and grants the 6++ to any unit he joins, which is only useful on non-Phoenix guard units

Technically yes he would have that 6+ ward save as well, but having it is pointless because he also has the 4+ ward and you can only take one ward save.

I think what Grey is saying needs a little clarification.
A knight might have a shield and thus a Parry save and thus a 6+ ward. But the knight, through whatever means, a spell or such, also has a 6+ ward.
After toughness, armor rolls, you take the BEST of either Regen or Ward.
But let's say that knight was attacked on the rear or via ranged weapon. He would not get his Parry save. But he still has 6+ ward from the spell. Or if the spell is dispelled or its duration expires, he still has the Parry save. But they are not taken separately (ever!) nor are they cumulative unless specifically stated, which is very rare.

I see, so the purpose of the Anointed's 6+ is only so he can transfer it to a non-warded unit.
I was wondering why he'd have 4+ and 6+ while he was a single character.... Not one to be taken on his own then...

Yeah. If he has a 4+ he will never benefit from a normal 6+.
