Hello, I'm in the mood to purchase some tau hazard battlesuits (apparently attaching Shadowsun to them can be very fun, although maybe not the best tactical choice) and I find it distinctly annoying that Forgeworld sells 3 completely different models for the 3 different weapon options (and as far as I can tell no option for the submunition rifle).
I'm wondering if there's any alternatives out there for me to do some hacking and magnetizing to let me swap out some weapon choices. I'm not really talking about recasting here because I know its illegal and this forum doesn't like you talking about it. Just any kind of "generic scifi mech weapons" that are the right scale and let me differentiate between weapon choices.

I think Chapterhouse made a Broadside arm that really looks too big for a standard suit, and even the commander arms. I'm not sure how hard it would be, but I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to use the weapon as stand in for the other two options.
And yes, it is really stupid that you have to purchase three different models to get all the weapon options. FW kinda hates Tau like that.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."
"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

I think burst cannons are the best option, but on the other hand they are also the easiest to make with parts you probably already have. Magnetizing is not too hard either.

I was going to buy 3 of the burst cannon versions, but I could maybe see myself taking the meltas to better synergise with Shadowsun's weaponry and to melt the faces off space marines (although the burst cannons might actually still kill marines better for the points. I haven't done the math on that yet).
