Using scibor models i decided to go with Grey knights instead. Here is my proposed list. This list is designed to be allied with my guard which could be in any number of variations and so on. The aim is just to have cool models on the board (scibor is amazing...) but tactics wise they are just gonna walk forward shooting then bash some skulls.

Grand master
Storm Bolter
Nemesis Force Sword

175 Points

Grey Knight Terminators
Nemesis Halberds

200 Points

Nemesis Dreadknight
Heavy Psycannon
DoomFist

180 Points

Total

545 Points

Now they are pretty bare bones squads but they fit the models i have. Any upgrades will be in the form of ammo and grenades which i know very little about. Fire away.

You know you took a Dreadknought and not a Dreadknight?
A DK cannont have a plasma canon, cannot take a heavy flamer (but a heavy incinerator instead) and will cost more than that.

If you run a dreadnought then I would take a "psyfleman"
2x Twin Autocannons with psy upgrade.

Are these models based on what you have or what you would like?

They are based on what's coming and what I have got. The big roman mec and a leader is a Caesar. Already got the termies. So on short im limited to whaon the list but gear is changeable

Well, it sounds like your going for a bit more assault oriented support with your, which is pretty cool. Thing about the GM is that you get grand stragety, which can impact your entire allied detachment (you can benefit up to 3 units, only have 2 units that can benefit cause it does not work on IC's) so you don't have that much to benefit. You probably don't need scoring, so maybe re roll 1's to wound for both the knight and terminators, although scout could be useful as well. Deep striking the terminators with the GM is probably your best bet. For upgrades, keep your sword, but consider an incinerator. Blind grenades are a steal and protect the unit, while rad and psychotroke grenades are expensive but make winning CC a breeze.

Instead of a GM, consider a librarian with your choice of powers. Deep strike with the terminators as usual, but now you have psychic support. You can also get servo skulls, helping reduce deep strike and enemy scouts/infiltrators. If your guard have any barrage weapons, they help here too.

Get a psycannon on your terminator squad. It is expensive, but very effective for shooting.

Drop the psycannon on the dreadknight for a flamer. A teleporter is nice but probably too expensive for your allied detachment.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Interesting. I will admit it was the first time i opnened a grey knight codex so i have a lot to learn.

I might give my IC different grenades to the terminators and get the benifits for both.

I looked at the weapon upgrades but as a guard player it was very hard spending 200 points on 5 men. But yea it doesnt hurt them to have one.

And on the dreadknight the weapon it comes with looks more like a cannon but can easily be made into a flamer. Ill give that a shot and save a few points.

The librarian is interesting, never looked at him to be honest. I'll have to look at him after work but how well does a librarian fair in combat. Also its anti pyschic abilities i have heard about which could hurt the pesky group of farseers.

My usual opponents are eldar (hence the halberds), Grey Knights, Marines, Necrons and chaos so if that helps.

Always run an inquisitor at 500p for HQ. Anything else (other than maybe Coteaz) is too expensive as GK are in general and you need the points elsewhere. I also notice you only have 1 troops choice... But maybe that's intentional.

I think allies only need one troops choice but im using the grey knights because it suits the models i have. Which includes the chapter master looking guy. I plan on keeping my grey knight IC with the Grey Knight unit. what benifits does the inquisitor have over the GM?

Ah I completely missed the allies part and read it as a standalone list. In that case ignore literally everything I just said
